Travelodge London Docklands

Recently used this hotel when we were going to the O2. Arrived at 11ish and managed to find a place in the car park. We knew we could not check in until 3pm so paid the parking and just went in to the hotel. We needed the loo as we had travelled awhile but we had to wait for a member of staff to open the door in order to use the toilet! We had a very helpful black man on site who helped us with finding the tube and also sorting out the charges for the Blackwell tunnel. We went off into London and returned about 2.40pm. We asked if we could check in but was told that we would have to pay £15 to checkin before 3pm!!!! We were told we could wait in the bar!!! We had once again have to wait for the door to be opened and we proceeded to the bar. When arriving we were met by a large number of guests obviously waiting to check in. The bar service was terrible, we had to wait a long time to be served. My husband went down about 3.20 and the queue to check in was out of the door. He then went down again about 3.45 and waited until we got our room key about 15 minutes later. We were a bit annoyed as all we wanted to do was to have a shower and a rest before we made our way to the O2. The rooms are very small and sitting on the toilet the sink dug into your shoulder as it was so cramped in the bathroom. There was no bath mat and the floor was very slippery when you got the shower. There wa no shaving/makeup mirror in the bathroom. The shower had a curtain which in this day and age you don’t expect to see this. The tea tray had just one teabag and 2 milk!! We left to go the O2 and returned about 11ish. We decided to go the bar as we needed a drink as it was a quite hot night. The bar had a massive queue and the staff did not know how to operate the bar or till. The bar was very hot and there didn’t appear to be any air con. Asked for a fruit juice was but told we don’t have them even though they are on the bar menu. My husband queued about 10 minutes to get a drink. In the morning went to get breakfast which we had paid for with the booking. The girl spent ages looking at a list and then asked us to produce email confirmation that we had paid for it. Once showing her this she took us in. The queues were massive for everything. Everything was running out so we gave up on breakfast even though we had paid for it. When we walked out the queue waiting to get in was massive. We did mention to the manager when we checked out and he said he would refund us for breakfast. This is not really acceptable as we had to travel home (on a Sunday) without having anything to eat!! The location for the O2 is fairly good but on Saturday the DLR was not running so we had to get on a replacement bus to Canning Town to get the tube. This hotel is very understaffed but they are still charging good money for an unsuitable stay. I would not recommend this hotel even though the hotel is not too far from the O2. Hotel is 5mins (Google says 8 but I walk fast) from East India DLR station which makes connecting with other lines in Stratford or Canning Town very easy. Also very close to Canary Wharf by bus (D3, like 10 mins or so). Staff was friendly and clear, checking in was super easy. We got a room on 7th floor, which is a plus for me as I like heights and panoramas. Very quiet and comfy, slept like a log. Sheets and bathroom were clean and smelled fresh, aircon very easy to use. No fridge in our room but that wasn't a problem for us. Massive window, which I loved. Very pleasant experience overall

Hotel was clean and located near the DLR(east India) great for our visit to the o2,safe area, recommended

We stayed at the Travelodge London Docklands Central on a Saturday, we arrived early and did by luck managed to get a parking place on site £13 24 hours not many parking spaces for a large hotel. At first I asked a few questions to the assistant manager who was very helpful and then went on our way to London, we arrived back at 2.35 pm and was not allowed to check in until 3pm although I had pre booked my room at a cost of £3.50 was told to go to the Bar and wait , were there was a long queue at the bar . Went to check in at 3.30 after a drink only to fined the queue was outside the front door this could have been avoided if I was allowed to check in earlier. We went out for the evening and on our return about 11pm decided to go to the bar for a drink again very large queue and very slow service and when I ordered my drinks from the menu one being a passion fruit for my wife who doesn’t drink alcohol or fizzy drinks but the bar staff had no idea what I was asking for so I showed the menu and both were still clueless to what it was . We had pre booked breakfast and paid for when we booked in November 2024 so was surprised when we went for breakfast at 8.45 there was again a long queue to check in then to my surprise we were not on the list so had to prove we had booked and paid for this was embarrassing because of the long queue behind us . We we finally got a table we went for for food again large queues and no hot food no bacon , sausage , mushrooms or eggs only uncooked toms . Some hot food was put out after about a 10 minute wait but this soon went from the people in front of the queue this again happened about 10 minutes later we were still to far back to help ourselves but I did notice the bacon that come out of the kitchen was under cooked and stuck together. Because of the wait we decided to leave without having food or drinks When I complained to the assistant manager at reception he didn’t seem to care but did promise to refund the breakfast money we had paid upfront so we will wait and see if I receive it although I believe we should receive more money refunded because of the all round service

Dust and rust in rooms, breakfast was a nightmare..the staff were rushed off their feet (as a former hotel and hospitality employee I understand this was tough) there was a big queue for food with not alot if choice, no cups for the coffee machine. It was chaos. Manager greeting us was on and off the phone whilst dealing with customers. No tables wiped. Poor food choice. We only booked this hotel as we went to a concert at the O2. ABIT disappointed but they were extra busy.

Simple, clean, and an amazing view (13th floor for me) - but PLEASE SORT OUT THE NOISE FROM THE PLUMBING!! When I spoke with the team member on the desk, she indicated that the problem was known about, and that there was an issue with plumbing noise (a loud hum for around 15-20 mins at a time, presumably during another guest's shower?) throughout the hotel. Throughout???? I mean, come on Team Travelodge.... other than that, great value if rather a weird location.
