From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty. The service really was outstanding. In fact almost everything about the hotel was top class, from the location (2mins from Buck Palace), rooms, cleanliness, restaurant offer (fabulous food in ‘Bistro’) and uniqueness of the property itself. I say almost because there was one major let down for a place of this standard and that was the breakfast offer & service. The ‘hot food’ was served up buffet style in ceramic pots with no facility for keeping it heated, was offered up lukewarm and was cold by the time you got it to your table. On top of that you had to pre-order cooked eggs but again this was a total lost cause if you happened to be eating at the busier end of service as we found out with a 35minute wait for them. In all honesty, a hotel of this quality should easily be able to cater for a busy breakfast service especially if charging in excess of £20+ pp for the privilege and I made a point of calling this out discretely at reception where it was dealt with swiftly in a real professional fashion. Glowing experience saved! Only other small grumble was that the hotel bar, which we really enjoyed, closed down for business at 11pm... and on a Saturday night too
Overall, a fabulous place and highly recommended for a special occasion... just avoid eating your brekkie when it’s busy.
