University Inn

I am working with USU on a business development deal and the University Inn was ideally located for me to reach all of the places on campus I needed to visit. They also provide free parking at a very nearby garage, which is a big plus given the rather Byzantine university parking rules. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with the hotel itself in good repair and looking like it had just received a thorough refresh. The biggest plus was the staff. They were beyond friendly and pleasant, even providing free Aggie ice cream to guests and setting up the big TV in the lobby so I could watch the NHL while eating it. And they seemed sincerely sorry when a problem I had with the bathtub drain was not remedied during my stay. One suggestion for improvement greater variety in the breakfast buffet. Some bacon or sausage would be nice. Waffles with even those fresh blueberries get a bit tiring.

Very friendly and helpful personnel at the reception! The rooms are quite large and have all the facilities you would expect. I had some problems with the breakfast - there was very little variety and the whole atmosphere reminded me of a cheap hostel. I wish the breakfast took place in a more spacious room. As for food, I lacked sliced cheese and ham, and fresh bread. I ran a half marathon in the morning and returned at 9.15 am to the hotel to find out breakfast closes already at 9 am!!! Cmon!!!

Good quality for price, friendly front desk staff. Free ice cream and parking! On campus of USU, walking distance to football stadium. Was less than most of the downtown motels. Very quiet, comfortable bed.

Very pleasantly surprised that it was so nice. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was great. Signage to find hotel was lacking. Breakfast was merely tolerable though waffles were good. Have to use adjacent parking garage, though you can unload luggage at hotel front before having to move car.

That feeling when you're told they don't have the room that you are holding a reservation for in your hand :( That feeling when you find it was for a VIP hold :( That feeling when you're told you were downgraded but not offered any comps for failed expectations :( The memory that Marriot did this to you fifteen years ago and you've never been back :)

The staff is great, But the room wasn’t. Checked in at 10 tired and ready to go to bed. When I got there the window was wide-open with the a tube hanging out the window, hooked to an air conditioning machine. I called the front desk and they said sorry for the inconvenience but that there were no more rooms and offered me earplugs. With the window being open I ended up having visitors 2 katydids tons of bugs flying around. Not to mention all the noise that came in. Once again I called the front desk they said there was nothing they could really do. The front desk was nice enough to come up and capture the bugs. Brought me a fan and a bug light zapper. Now why they had the bug light zapper on hand is a big red flag. Like I said the front desk was amazing but the room wasn’t worth any money. I think I would’ve been better sleeping in my car or on the quad with everybody else.
