This terrific two-story home sits on the edge of Rhododendron and Brightwood and is conveniently located near many outdoor recreation options in the area.The spaceThe cabin sleeps up to six people comfortably and includes an updated, well-equipped kitchen. Our living room is the perfect relaxation and entertainment hub, featuring a 60-inch smart TV and a vintage turntable and receiver (with Bluetooth capability) with a stash of great records (bring your own if you want!). Upstairs, you’ll find the main bedroom with a queen bed, reading nook, balcony access and a desk for the work-from-home crowd. There is also a quaint bathroom and a bunkroom that features a single and full bed. Downstairs, there is plenty of space to hang your outdoor recreation gear to dry in the hallway, and you’ll find the third bedroom with a queen bed and nearby bathroom with shower. The living space is extended outside, featuring a deck with an outdoor table and BBQ grill just off the dining room, and a perfect space out back with ample outdoor seating and a gas fire pit to wind down your evening.Guest accessThe cabin is a standalone home that you’ll have to yourself. It is located in the Timberline Rim community, a neighborhood of homes primarily occupied by full-time residents and some nightly rentals. There are neighbors to each side of the cabin, with a street-facing front. There’s not a great deal of traffic, but traffic is audible at times. Our home offers ample free parking and a convenient horseshoe driveway for easy access, in and out.Other things to noteCentrally located in the Mount Hood Corridor, we are in close proximity to a wide variety of area outdoor attractions, and our home is a great place to relax after a day of activities and exploring. There are ample options for groceries and food in the area, including stores in Rhododendron, Brightwood and nearby Sandy. Location, Location, Location!!! This unique A-Frame was originally built in the 60's by an architect who lived and breathed mountain life. The house was completely remodeled in 2015, and is like nothing else - truly unique.For heating on cold snowy nights, a new propane furnace, wood stove, bed heaters on all beds, cozy down comforters, and feather beds insure your feet will stay toasty warm. The bathrooms have been remodeled to include a claw foot soaking tub and two custom tiled showers, along with an instant hot water heater to provide continuous hot water for all guests. There is also a sauna for soothing aching muscles from a hard day on the slopes.The kitchen is extraordinarily functional with gourmet touches, including a Viking range, Dishwasher, concrete countertops, and everything you could possibly need to blend, puree, chop, boil, or sauté until your heart content. In addition, we have many spices available for your use.Sleeping arrangements consist of two bedrooms and a loft. The loft has a queen bed and twin futon. The first floor bedrooms have a queen in one room, and two twin beds in the second. There is an additional twin futon available with bedding.The upstairs is perfect for family and friends, with a great room concept integrating kitchen, eating, and living spaces. The living room has a huge and cozy Restoration Hardware down couch, along with other designer comforts and a flat screen TV for watching your favorite DVD or streaming Netflix.We made all efforts to incorporate reclaimed/recycled finishes throughout, which is demonstrated through touches such as 9-inch yellow pine flooring planks salvaged from gymnasium bleachers and the chairlift chair hanging from the ceiling peak in the main room.Best of all, the location of this little gem cannot be beat. Upper Skibowl is one block away. In fact, it takes longer to walk across the Skibowl parking lot than it does to walk from the house to the Skibowl gate entrance. Or rather than heading to the slopes, take a left and walk across Multopor Crossing and you are in Government Camp proper, with several restaurant options like Charley's, the Huckleberry Inn, Ratskeller, or shopping for forgotten essentials and memorable souvenirs. Unless you are driving to Timberline or Meadows, YOU DON'T NEED YOUR CAR.
