We hope this home feels like your own peaceful retreat, whether you’re here for outdoor adventures, family time, or simply a chance to slow down and enjoy the beauty and charm of Sandpoint.The chalet is conveniently located just a 15–20 minute drive from Schweitzer Mountain ski lifts, offering easy access to some of the Northwest’s best skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and mountain biking. Silverwood Theme Park is also only about a 30-minute scenic drive away, making it a fun destination for families and guests of all ages.After a day of exploring, relax in our spacious 6-person saltwater hot tub while enjoying the fresh mountain air and beautiful Idaho skies. Inside, the home offers plenty of space to gather, including a large basement game room with arcade games, air hockey, ping pong, foosball, darts, and other entertainment for kids and adults alike.The chalet comfortably sleeps up to 9 guests with flexible sleeping arrangements. The upstairs and downstairs bathrooms have recently been renovated with modern updates to provide extra comfort during your stay.The basement includes a laundry area with complimentary laundry soap and fabric softener, a small workout space with dumbbells and a foam roller, and a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair for guests who need a quiet place to work. The entire home, including the basement, is yours to enjoy.For additional sleeping space, the basement includes a futon with a mattress topper for added comfort. An air mattress is also available as an alternative option.Sandpoint is a special place surrounded by three mountain ranges and the beautiful Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho’s largest lake. Guests can enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, wildlife viewing, and many other outdoor adventures. During winter, Schweitzer becomes a true mountain playground with skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and scenic chairlift rides.Downtown Sandpoint offers wonderful local restaurants, shops, galleries, live music, theater, and charming cafes. Be sure to visit places like the historic Panida Theater, Cedar Street Bridge Public Market, and local favorites throughout town. Sandpoint also hosts many seasonal festivals celebrating music, food, art, and the outdoors.Please note that trains do pass near the chalet, with occasional horns during both daytime and nighttime hours. This is part of Sandpoint’s historic railroad community and something we want our guests to be aware of before booking.Our mountain home currently has one portable AC unit, and we are adding a second unit to provide additional comfort. During periods of unusually hot weather, bedrooms may still feel warmer, especially in the afternoon when temperatures are at their highest.The home also features a cozy electric/gas fireplace (not wood-burning) that creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere during your stay.We feel very fortunate to care for this special home and continue the love and hospitality that Joey shared with guests before us. This 5 bedroom cabin sleeps 14 in beds (cal king in master, 2 queens in the 2 rooms on the main floor, and 2 full beds as well as single bunk beds in both rooms in the bottom floor). This Cabin is tastefully decorated and furnished to match the home's rustic elegance including flooring and woodwork milled from the trees on the property, as well as new furniture throughout.Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway, but capable of accommodating and entertaining a small family reunion. Game room in the basement includes TV and DVD player, pool and foosball tables. The house backs up to Coeur D'Alene National Forest, where you can enjoy hikes up Grouse Mountain, and enjoy the creek that flows through the property from late fall through June. Get up with your morning coffee on the deck and enjoy the local wildlife including deer, elk, turkey, and an occasional moose that are regular visitors.This home is conveniently located a short distance to a wide variety of activities, sure to make your trip the perfect getaway. Nearby attractions include Lake Pend Oreille (7 miles), Sandpoint (11 miles), Schweitzer Ski Resort (23 miles), Silver Mountain Ski Area. You might just see Bald Eagles, osprey, turkeys or waterfowl. Many small birds also call our place their home. You may be lucky enough to meet or hear other North Idaho wildlife on our property; Mister Moose occassionally comes for a visit, too.On warmer days you can sit outside on the covered porch or have lunch on the picnic table. Grab a blanket if you get cold!Choose between sleeping in the cozy loft (low ceiling) or downstairs. If you pick the cozy loft, you must be able to climb steep stairs/ladder. There you will find two twin XL size mattresses--> feel free to move them together to make it a king size bed. If you prefer to sleep downstairs, you can pick the trundle or day bed. All 4 beds are memory foam. The living room and sleeping areas are open space concept, so you won't find a bedroom door ;) .The water in the shower is temperamentalDue to limited power to the cabin, there is a tankless water heater which might not always keep up with the water pressure in the shower. The lower pressure you will use, the warmer it will be.Our guest cabin is cozy, simple and compact. Take its size (+/-350sqft) in consideration when booking.-->most pictures are taken with fish eye lense. Note that it appears bigger.The cabin is perfect for 2 people and ok for up to 4 guests. It can get tight if you travel with a lot of luggage and/or winter gear.There is a small kitchen with a countertop double burner, coffee maker, toaster and a mini fridge. Cozy, rustic, charming and unique tiny cabin in the North Idaho forest on 20 acres next to a creek. Heaven for the Nature lover. 1 Mile to a beautiful Lake. Great swimming, fishing and paddle boarding. 30 minutes to Sandpoint, 25 minutes to Priest River, an hour to Priest Lake, 55 minutes to CDL and 1.5 hours to Spokane international airport. *outdoor hot water shower is disabled mid Oct.-May 1. Are you looking for a place to escape to and tune into Nature? Do you need to get away from your computer and wi-fi ? This is a recharging station for the soul! Deep in the forest and near a non-motorized lake. You will wake up to the birds, the breeze and the sound of the creek. It's a nice well maintained gravel road, almost at the end, so there isn't hardly any traffic.The wood stove heats up the cabin quickly for chilly mornings or stormy days. There is a Propane grill and a propane 2 burner camp stove (we provide the propane). The outdoor kitchen area is covered and has a counter top to prepare your food. I have two new Andirondacks outdoor chairs and table along with a free standing fire pit. We have a hammock hanging in the shade of the cedars. A great place to rest or read a book. There are pans, dishes, silver ware, olive oil, salt and pepper, dish soap and a sink with running water. A Cooler that is built into a work top counter is also provided. We have tapped into the spring water system! It's wonderful to have running water inside the cabin and also in the outdoor kitchen sink. We now have power at the cabin. It is minimal, but helpful. there are two beautiful antique chandeliers inside and two outside lights. There are outdoor plugins and also, four outlets inside. There is an oil heater to heat up the upstairs and there is an electric blanket on the bed that keeps you warm in the winter if needed.It's great to bring flip flops for the outdoor shower, and a flashlight or headlamp. We also provide the toilet paper and paper towels, and towels for your shower (not for the lake). There is Earth friendly shampoo and soap here also. Guests have access around the tiny cabin. Beyond the cabin and the garden, PLEASE ask for permission by contacting Lori first.Thank you!Other things to note. Verizon is spotty here. AT&T and other networks like consumer cellar work great! We do have a young 50 pound dog here. She is off leash and friendly and loves other dogs. She will be the first to greet you! Her name is Nevada.There is normally an instant hot water outdoor shower here. From mid Oct- May 1st it's not in operation. We have to winterize it so it doesn't freeze up. There is still a covered outdoor composting toilet year round. We provide wood for your indoor fire. If you're going to have an outdoor fire please provide your own wood for it. There is lots of kindling in the forest around the cabin that would be great for your use.Please check with me first to make sure there isn't a fire ban. There is a Propane grill and a propane 2 burner camp stove (we provide the propane). The outdoor kitchen area is covered and has a table top to prepare your food. A headlamp is helpful as well as flip flops for the outdoor shower. We do have a few bugs different times of the day, a healthy bug repellant is helpful. ( not needed until summer of course :))There is only one parking space, if you need to bring two cars please let me know ahead of time. There is only room for two people at the cabin. If you’re bringing a pet please ask before booking. All dogs must stay on a leash and be very minimal barking dogs. There is an additional $35 nonrefundable pet fee. If you have two dogs the fee is $55.Please bring your own Doo-doo bags Thank you!Also please note that even though you can't see neighbors here they are nearby, along with other guests in the other cabins that we have here. ( they are not close to this cabin).Sound does travel here so please no music and no loud voices. We consider this to be a quiet sanctuary and retreat.Remember to print out the directions, as GPS sometimes takes you in the wrong direction! This cabin is unique, on the shore of Kelso Lake - a small, secluded lake that is quiet and serene. The lake itself is 65 acres with lots of wildlife and amazing fishing for trout and bass. Only electric motors allowed, so it is always peaceful. The gated private side of the lake has 5 active cabins in total. The acreage included is 1.87 with 110 feet of frontage. It is conveniently located between Coeur d’ Alene and Sandpoint, and is 10-15 minutes to Silverwood Theme Park. Food/shopping/supplies are only 10 minutes away. This cabin has 1200 square feet of living space and comes with amenities to make your stay comfortable.. It has been fully remodeled. There are 3 separate sleeping areas that can sleep a maximum of 6 people. (note: 3rd bedroom is a small futon, a perfect size for kids!) There are beautiful hand textured walls with hardwood floors, alder woodwork and handcrafted basalt end tables, a spiral staircase, and a gambrel roofline for added space upstairs. There is also a full daylight basement (unfinished) used for storage, has a wood stove for heat - with electric heat in bedrooms on chilly nights. The outdoor areas include a big patio and fire pit area. Extensive rock work and steel railings contribute to safe access. (There are stairs up to the cabin and down to the lake!) There is a large Shoremaster dock that has space for all guests with 2 paddle boards and 2 kayaks. We have spent the last 10 years making this cabin unique- with the ability to come up and relax for days or weeks at a time. It is truly one of a kind.(Because of the serene atmosphere at the lake, no parties are allowed)Please note:Our cabin supports a disconnected lifestyle. There is no Wi-Fi – and only 8 channels on the main television. The other TVs take CDs (side) or we have a connection for Ipads if you have downloaded content. [USB-C] An iPhone cable is available under the dining table.Some cell phone carriers work great at the cabin. AT&T seems to be the best. Some carriers may have spotty or low signal.
