Lochailort Inn

Popped into this inn as we were passing from Mallaig for a bite of lunch only to find a lovely restaurant serving a very tasty steak & ale pie, which you could cut with a spoon, and also the duck which was also a delicious meal. The staff were very friendly. We would recommend the inn for any traveller passing by.

I recently stayed at the Lochailort Inn, and it was a fantastic experience. The inn is set in a beautiful, remote part of the Highlands, making it the perfect spot to enjoy Scotland’s natural beauty and escape the hustle and bustle. The rooms were cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight was definitely the warm hospitality—the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided excellent recommendations for exploring the local area. The food was delicious, especially the hearty, traditional Scottish dishes that were perfect after a day of exploring. If you’re looking for a genuine Highland experience with great food and friendly service, the Lochailort Inn is a wonderful choice. I’d love to stay here again on my next trip to the area!

We called in for a quick drink on route to Mallaig on a miserable day, I’m so glad we did, such wonderful staff with great local knowledge, we hung around for an evening meal and it was special! Locally sourced venison burger and steak and stout pie was excellent, highly recommended and we will be back!

The bedroom and bathroom was very pleasant, clean and bright with a lovely mountain view. We ate our evening meal there and were delighted with the food. Excellent standard. Excellent price. We were travelling round Scotland and felt this was one of the best quality meals we had. Breakfast, also, was very good.

So great to see this family run Inn being carefully and excitingly well-run! Extremely comfortable bed and loads of hot water for a very deep luxurious bath after my day’s walking. Very quiet room and delicious dinner of local fish. Thank you so very much.

Great small hotel run by Barry and his wife with a lot of love and care. Great food haddock for breakfast. The rooms are simple and very clean mine had a gorgeous view too! Great place to base yourself to explore the highlands and perhaps the islands and f the inner Hebrides too.
