The pub has a good vibe and the staff are really helpful and polite, they couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel though is really quite dirty. The carpet leading into the hotel is visibly filthy and the carpet in the room we stayed in was stained as well. I think the room had been cleaned but not very well…the taps in the bathroom weren’t clean. There was a weird smell also. The decor is tired and the furniture old. There was a lot of noise after 11pm with doors banging downstairs (I think) and bottles being disposed of in the yard below our room window. I wouldn’t pay half what we did to stay here, I would stay somewhere else. The 2 stars are for the staff, the hotel gets 0.

A friendly place to stay during a business trip. Fine food, and a cracking breakfast to set you up for a day on the road. Basic, clean and comfy rooms. A good pint of course and a pleasant location to wander round and explore. I liked the Collie who came to greet me in the car park in the morning when he was doing his rounds of the village. Thankyou

Staff very helpful and polite, lovely bar area and pool table. Food was very good . Rooms very clean beds comfortable, lovely bathrooms Breakfast and service was great. Would definitely recommend this hotel and town, we will definitely stay here again.

Great pub in small town, clean facilities, cold beers and good meals. The staff were excellent especially Nicola who deserves a pay rise- so friendly and professional, nothing was a problem to make our stay a good one. All staff were very polite and efficient- thanks

Me and my friends came for a night and it was absolutely amazing the staff were just amazing and the 3 girls behind the bar were just lovely and so helpful the handsome man taking the bets was such a delight the bedrooms were so spotless it really made me think of how clean my own house is and the food was top class.My one fault of my whole stay was I did not get the barman Dj’s number

Staff were really friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. Great value for money. Suzanne was amazing and so was Tara. We had a really enjoyable stay. The breakfast was very good. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Parking is available

the food was excellent and staff were very attentive , me and my friends were fishing nearby and a local recommended it so we said we’d check it out , 10/10 couldn’t recommend more, if I am ever in this kneck of the woods again I’ll be sure to call back in
