Hotel Acapulco

Good enough

We booked this just as a base for a 4 day visit and just wanted something cheap and cheerful, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel reception, lobby and bar area really nice and the pool and surrounding area is also lovely. The rooms are maybe a little dated although nothing worth complaining about, they are very clean and as we had a corner room the balcony was huge. We would definitely return.

Stayed at the Hotel Acapulco end of June 2025. The hotel was nice, modern and well located. Not too near the beach but there was a pool on site. Reception was efficient and friendly. Staff were nice and helpful throughout the hotel, particularly at the bar. Rooms were a little small but comfortable. AC was a little weak but seemed to cope given that temperatures were 30’c + outside. Each room had a fridge which was helpful, Wifi was available, and you may get a small balcony. Bathroom was ok, with a decent shower. Rooms were cleaned daily and this was done efficiently. Pool was ok but area a little small. Limited sunbeds. Fortunately, the staff don’t tolerate reserving beds with towels and will remove them. Hat’s off to them for that. The hotel seems to have a high turnover of guests, with weekends being quite business, but quietening outside of this. I was anticipating it being quieter as it was outside of school holidays, however there were a lot of school trips staying, a youth football tournament and stag dos. So not quite as relaxing as expected. The staff were good at manging and keeping any rowdiness to a minimum. Food in the restaurant was ok. Fairly similar for breakfast with a choice of hot and cold food. Evening meals had variety. Food was generally good, but options may be a little limited for vegetarians. The main problem with the restaurant was its management in the evening. As a guest you are allocated a table of your choice when you arrive on the evening. It is supposed to be reserved. But on two occasions when I came back to the table it had been given to other guests. In the end I made a stern complaint to the staff there, as it was a joke if you had to wait for a table and then lose it. Some restaurant staff needed to be more conscientious about what they are doing. Luckily it was taken on board and rectified the following day. But I suggest the usually trick of leaving something eg a jacket to show you are occupying the table even if you are not sitting at it at the time. A bit inconvenient given the temperature.
