Carmel House

Easy on street parking near the guest house. We had a pleasant 1 night stay in room 10 which has a lovely sea view. Yes, work is being done on the exterior but don't let this put you off. Our bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast was a slight let down with no cooked option. We had toast, cereal, yoghurts and coffee. All self service but adequate to start the day.

Hotel in great location on the main promenade not far from the theatre. Unfortunately, that's the best it gets. Got to our room, went into the bathroom and the smell was horrible coming from the drain. Damp under the window and a lot of dust behind the bedside cabinets and bed. Went for breakfast next morning and not enough tables for all guests staying, people had to sit in the hall to wait, with only one hour given for breakfast itself. Overall very disappointing.

This hotel is under outdoor renovation and that's fine but the inside has a feel of a hostel. The receptionist who we came across by per chance was lovely and helpful. She changed our room in a breath. By no means of imagination is the breakfast worth more than a zero score. The dining room felt like a works canteen and the kitchen is a disgrace. It's all do it and find it yourself. A suspect bunch of grapes on the counter and 3 brown bananas in a cupboard. 1 yogurt choice and 4 pint bottles of milk in the fridge. The most basic cerial and 2 loaves of the most basic bread and crumpets. Would not recommend and it didn't enhance my tour of Wales. Definitely a failure

Tiniest of rooms. The main problem being sold as breakfast included. The breakfast room felt like a work canteen. There was a basket with old grapes and 3 brown banana. 1 yogurt choice. Some very basic cerials with 4pint bottle of milk in fridge. Basic loaf of bread and crumpets. The kitchen was disgusting.

We spent 3 nights august this year . From the outside it looks bad - scaffolding from floor the roof but the inside is absolutely spotless I don’t know how they manage to keep it so clean but they do . We only saw 1 member of staff - on reception desk first thing in the mornings and she was lovely. We had room 2 ground floor . Lovely room - massive bed .- it’s at the back so not much of a view but that didn’t bother us in the slightest because everything else was perfect .Very quiet place - you couldn’t be closer to the sea if you were on a boat 😂 we had a fantastic weekend . The only negative is it’s a bit far from town - you have to get a taxi every time you go out and the internet signal was very poor . But I would definitely recommend this hotel . We will be visiting again before Christmas. Can’t wait 👍

It’s basic but clean and value for money and the staff are really nice. The downsides are that the lovely sea view is obscured by the scaffolding covering the front of the hotel. The breakfast also was disappointing as it was only cereal and toast kinda set up . Also it’s the complete other end of the bay where the town centre is.
