Celestial Hotel Luxury Suites and Spa

We almost booked to stay. As we ended up staying just round the corner we decided to take a look, in case we wanted to stay the next time we visited the island. We encountered such a rude member of staff (a manager?) that we definitely will not stay here the next time we visit. We cycled into the grounds. There were no signs saying we could not enter where we went. We were told to leave in a very rude manner. He could have been polite. I was pretty shocked at the rudeness. What a joke that there is a sign up declaring it to be a bike friendly hotel. Also, they have so many bright lights all over the hotel that it causes terrible light pollution.

We stayed earlier this year when the hotel had not long opened for the season and, whilst some were still learning their roles, the overall presentation of the hotel and quality was second to none. You are not going to get fully traditional Greek food, but they don't advertise that and you still have the option of going elsewhere occasionally if you prefer. We ate out twice and the food wasn't actually as good and cost a lot! We enjoyed sitting at the restaurant next to the bar and pool and enjoyed the relaxed dining experience. The salads alone are worth eating there. The breakfasts are also fantastic. Lots of choice The room and balcony with plunge pool will be hard to beat anywhere and the main pool and sun loungers top class. We just loved the relaxing atmosphere, the location, the views and would love to return. If you want bustling nightlife and entertainment this one might not be for you, but if you want relaxation and class, then it most definitely is.

If you are after nightlife this is not the hotel for you. It is in a very quiet area of the island . The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage and a seating area as well as a large patio with table and chairs, two comfortable sun beds and a plunge pool. Staff work hard to ensure you have a good stay and are very helpful. The breakfast is a buffet but omelettes and different styles of egg can be ordered freshly made. The half board evening meal is three buffet starters and a couple of salads which were all nice. Main course is a choice of four, I don’t eat meat but managed to choose something every night apart from one when I chose from the veggie menu. Dessert is a choice of three. It would have been nice to have ice cream as a choice occasionally. Portions were generous and tasty. Overall , a lovely relaxing week. The 70m pool is amazing and there are plenty of sun beds and Bali beds. We didn’t hire a car as we were happy to potter about and go down to the nearby beach and stay by the pool. Diana at the front desk sorted a coach tour of the island for us with one of the local firms. As with most Greek hotels there are some cats in the grounds, it is not overrun by any means but they do potter about sometimes. Staff are kind to the cats and gently shoo them away if they venture into a public area. We love cats so this wasn’t an issue for us.

This hotel is a very modern hotel opened recently. When we arrived there was a staff member who took our cases to our room while we had a welcome drink. We was driven on buggy to our room and aircon was explained to us, room was cool. Positive I 1) The welcome from the receptionist was a warm pleasant smile ask for passports. 2) pleasant welcome drink of Greek bucks fizz which I knocked over before taken a sip. Was all cleaned up by waitress and another was on the table. 3) The room is a modern room big bathroom with a big shower always hot nice basin mirror etc. It's a 2tier room nice big bed and fridge always filled with 2 bottles of water. Lower tier has a L shape settee and coffee table which had fruit and a bottle of wine with a nice note. Outside is 2 chairs and table with 2 comfortable sunbeds getting the sun and of course your own dip pool overlooking the countryside. 3) Breakfast is OK coffee's out of machine, teabag and hot water with various other flavors. There is your usual buffet style breakfast, yogurt, cereals, hot food, cheeses, croissants and cake. 4) The pool is longest I have ever seen in a hotel, with plenty of sunbeds around the pool all comfortably and with hotel staff for your orders, all the staff are well groomed and very polite. 5) Evening meals I can only say we had only one as we were only B&B but it was pleasant food. There seemed to be no atmosphere but that's down to the guests to make it. As a hotel it is great if your here for 5-7 days but if longer I suggest what most of the guests do go out and see kefalonia sites, beaches and taste the true kefalonia food, meet the people very friendly also much cheaper. A good restaurant to eat at is Dennis about a 10min walk from hotel, turn right then left down a single road and there it is facing the sea, great food ( taramasalata not pink and taste fantastic) There’s nothing to say wrong about this hotel everything is spotless and clean, staff very helpful food good but not for people who want the night life. This hotel is quite and peaceful a place to relax with a beer, G&T, cocktails watching the changing colours on the hillsides.

Perfect place if you just want to relax , very clean and the views are incredible. Big thanks to the staff Maria , Diana , Nicola and Alexandra they were so helpful and always kind to us . We was on our honeymoon and we had a fantastic time . If there was anything to fault we would say the food could be a bit better ... thanks for a lovely time ❤️

The Hotel is much more attractive than it looks in the site. Our choice to come and stay here was absolutely successful and paid back in all aspects. Beautiful environment, with comfortable and well designed rooms. Relaxing facilities (GYM, SPA). Polite staff, efficient service. Excellent food with big variety. The huge public pool is a state-of-the-art construction. We spent 5 lovely days and we will came back soon
