Barbara Studios & Apartments

My family and I stayed in Barbara studios for 14 nights. We as a big family spent a lot of money to get and stay here. I didn’t appreciate getting shouted at Wasn’t aim directly at me, but everyone who was sat round the pool. By the mother(Barbara) The daughter is definitely the more chilled out of the pair. Talking of the pool, The inspection covers around the pool were not only loose and conditionally slipping out of place creating a trip hazard and dangerous but were also made of thin galvanised metal which was boiling hot to stand on. The mother wasn’t happy we were eating other places and quizzed us about it. The next day we thought we would eat at Barbra’s to be shocked at the Greek salad full of cucumber a little tomato and basically a tiny cube of feta. On a whole we didn’t let this spoil our holiday, we just chose to stay away. Went to the beach. Which is lovely. I recommend if you’re a family with children or teenagers find somewhere else.

Barbara, Erato and Papa are some of the most hospitable and loving people I’ve ever met, absolutely lovely . They all made me feel so special, like one of the family ! I have been coming to Cephalonia since 1995 and it was my second time visiting Svoronata, it Won’t be my last, I love the area and more importantly the Island ️. Best Wishes to all the family for all of your hard work (8:00am until after midnight) and Still they All have a Big Smile on their faces for Every Single visitor ! If you are considering a visit, please visit asap, the hospitality is second to none !!! George !

We stayed here for 11 nights in September. Short transfer from the airport.Easy check in but I can understand some finding the list of do’s & don’ts a bit much upon checking in. I think the rules are pretty much standard so maybe could be just prompted to read. We had room 12. It was up 2 flights of stairs.Standard Greek appartment with everything you need. We were s/c & could make snacks etc.Absolutely spotlessly clean. We had probably one of the best views from the balcony. Bedding & towels changed regularly during our stay. We are not pool people but passing the pool daily it was very clean & plenty of sunbeds available. We visited the bar most days for drinks or food & the owners & their daughter were very friendly. Beaches are a little walk away. 3 we visited are lovely & had plenty sunbeds available. Small shop next door, bigger one ten minutes walk. Staff in the shops are very friendly & sell everything you could want, There are some lovely restaurants nearby & more a short walk away. We would definitely recommend booking the Dias Beekeeping tour. Absolutely fantastic,interesting experience. We also walked to the Sarris winery & had a lovely wine tasting experience. We walked or used the bus. Bus into Argostoli was every 2 hours due to moving to low season. Definitely worth visiting. With a car you could do so much more. We would definitely return but probably a week earlier as some restaurants started reducing their hours towards the end of our holiday. We would say these apartments are definitely more suitable for couples/adults. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Good size studios, private balcony with a view of the sea in the distance. Mosquito net covers the doors and windows. Good self catering facilties and a supermarket next door. The supermarket closed on day 2 of my holiday (it was October) but there was another one 10 minutes walk away. Very friendly, hard working family run. It was very quiet this time of year and only a small choice of restaurants nearby. Only 10 minute transfer from the airport. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday then pick the Barbara Studios.

Set in pretty well-kept gardens. The studios are certainly basic but they were clean and we had a decent balcony & appreciated the mosquito screens. We thought that check-in was a bit overwhelming, as you get a list of rules read out to you, backed up with a framed version to read but maybe this was why it was so peaceful and calm around the pool which also has a large board of rules. There was no problem with getting a sun bed however several of the loungers were broken but hopefully this will be sorted by next season. We had paid for B&B, but I cannot recommend breakfasts here unfortunately. We were told to be seated and then a plate of food was just put in front of us. There was no choice whatsoever unless you wanted to pay for a full English. We were given eggs, two small slices of cheap bread, cheap highly processed meat & cheese. Coffee was served with condensed milk. Fresh fruit was only served every other day alternating with a cake. There is however a very convenient and well-stocked supermarket next door but one and a good grill restaurant and laid-back cocktail bar next door which opens from around 6pm. Turn left out of the studios and there are a couple more restaurants within 10 minutes walk (the very pretty bakery Bake Someone Happy which is so much more than a bakery, beautiful breakfasts, coffee, brunches, lunches, drinks & dinners) is also on this road. Turn right out of the studios and there is La Calma where there is always a very warm welcome, amazing cocktails and good food. Straight across the road from Barbara and down a lane towards the beach is the lovely, friendly Fois restaurant. There are others places to eat too but probably more like a 35-40 minute walk away. There is also a very convenient bus stop into Argostoli outside the studios.

Lovley welcome. Clean, fresh smelling studio. Garden view which was both quiet and lovley. My husband and I wanted a quiet, break away i chose wisely and got what we asked for. Nearby tavernas and a supermarket next door. The supermarket closed for the season on october 1st as did a couple of tavernas but there is another supermarket a ten minute walk away. We ate out every night, lovley food and reasonable prices. We explored the island and fell in love with the people and the places we visited. Overall Barbaras is perfect for a quiet, peacefull break. The food we ate there was lovley too. Only one bad thing the beds are very hard..personal preference but i did find it hard to sleep. Wouldnt stop me staying there again. Oh, busstop outside too.

Barbara studio is very typical Greek studio/apartment (used to be known as Pensions) very basic but we like this about Greece. Our room was ok, beds ok small balcony overlooking the garden. Exactly opposite Barbara's is the road leading down to the small Al Helis beach, you walk past another very good restaurant on the way. Next door is a supermarket and next door to that is a very good restaurant Porto Helis. Turn left out of the studios 10 mins walk are another 2 restaurants and Grekstones car rental very reasonably priced cars. Also a must visit is Sea Salt restaurant really good food. Turn right out of studios is another restaurant. The pool is nice, clean and plenty of sunbeds, but they are very worn. I would recommend the studios but would recommend hiring a car to see the rest of the island. We ate twice at Barbars small bar area, but food wasn't very good, however plenty of other places to eat. We did not have any problems with Barbara or her family we found them welcoming and we didn't have any problems with our room or fridge. I would stay here again.

I echo the sentiments of the last reviews. This place is a little gem! Barbara and Erato were so welcoming. Very hard working and couldn’t do enough for us. The pool was very clean and could always find a sunbed. A fine 3 star base in a quiet village. Perfect! For the life of me I can’t understand why there are some bad reviews on here. Maybe they were families? It clearly states that this accommodation is for “couples and friends”. IMO not suitable for families. I will definately be coming back..thank you Barbara and Erato.

I am somewhat amazed by some reviews on here.Barbara studios is an amazing little gem.The studios are spacious and well equipped.The pool and pool area is spacious and immaculately clean. The owners are extremely hard working and always helpful.Food and drink always good. This us not a 5* hotel but a great 3* traditional Greek hotel that I would highly recommend
