La Maison Carpe Diem

We spent 3 nights here and our only disappointment was the weather stopped us from enjoying the garden.This is a lovely B and B situated in the centre of this lovely old town on the banks of the Seine with easy access to river walks and Richard 1 castle. The owners are lovely people who really looked after our every need. They made all our dinner reservations and provided a great French breakfast. Our room was a suite with a small lounge area and bathroom with a great walk in shower.. Parking is free on street and wasn’t a problem. The house is a period property which has been tastefully maintained.

We stayed here for two days and used the property as a base for the region. Despite the rush hour traffic the drive from CDG was easy. The property is charming and the owners are extremely helpful in every little way from helping with the luggage to dinner reservations. Rooms are nicely decorated, we had a one bedroom suite on the top floor. Excellent breakfast every day. Les Andelys is a charming little town to relax in. Our stay was so nice I didn’t want to leave.

Le Maison Carpe Diem is located near the center of the village of Les Andelys, near restaurants and shops. We were able to park in front of the B&B. The inn is nicely decorated and offers large common areas along with a beautiful private garden area for guests. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a modern bathroom and shower. What makes the inn special are the proprietors, Bruno and Laurentz. They are incredibly welcoming and focused on the comfort of their guests. They helped us with our travel plans and prepared the best breakfast of our 3-week stay in France.

Our stay at Carpe Diem was lovely. Bruno and Laurent are wonderful hosts and we could not asked for a better experience. Carpe Diem is a beautifully restored building from the 1700’s within the town of Les Andelys. We had the Seine Side room and our friends had the La Riga. The rooms are small, as would be expected in an older building, but clean and furnished with modern amenities. The beds are comfortable with feather pillows. We slept well, even though it was our first night in France after arriving from the USA. The bathroom is fully remodeled and up-to-date. Parking is conveniently located on the street outside the front door. There is also a lovely garden in the back with a view of Château Gaillard. Lauren and Bruno served a breakfast was one of the best that we had during our two-week stay in France. A simple continental breakfast can be typical. However, our hosts created magic with scrambled eggs, multiple hams, eleven cheeses, fresh pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit. What a feast! Our hosts went above and beyond to help get our trip off to a good start. Our flight from Chicago was three hours late and we missed our prescheduled ticket time for Monet’s house and garden at Giverny. Without our even asking, they called the Monet Foundation and arranged that we could use our tickets the next day. They were also very helpful with dinner reservations and tour ideas. Their efforts launched our vacation off to a great start. If we visit Les Andelys again, I would definitely stay at Carpe Diem.

We just stayed over for one night on our way home ! We were made to feel really welcome! It is extremely comfortable,clean and we had the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten with a wonderful view of the garden and castle! We’ll defiantly be going back !

An amazing little hotel. We were made very welcome as soon as we arrived with Bruno and Laurent going out of their way to help. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Easy walking distance around the town. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful guest house with a stunning garden full of roses. The welcome was so warm and we slept very well. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had . The medieval village is lovely and we really enjoyed our visit to the ruins of Richard of Lionhearts castle. We would recommend a stay here when visiting Normandy.Merci Bruno and Laurent for making us so welcome.

Tutto assolutamente tutto, ci siamo sentiti piacevolmente a casa, coccolati !! Le camere più che confortevoli e belle agli occhi come tutto il resto della casa. Dormito molto bene e colazione perfetta, non mancava nulla di nulla! Laurent e Bruno grazie siete strepitosi accoglienti e gentili . Grazie per averci fatto stare bene !

Magnifique décoration, accueil chaleureux, petit-déjeuner gourmand fait avec des produits locaux, chambre calme et confortable, jardin agréable et bien entretenu, village mignon, ... Tout y est! Merci à Bruno & Laurent d'y mettre tout votre cœur. A recommander à 100%!
