We opted for a standard room with a Mountain View, thinking that we would be skiing most of the day. However, the room we were allocated was nothing like the image on their website. The room was really worn, tiles cracked in the bathroom, mould growing in the corners of the bath, the bath was badly chipped, the middle draw of the dresser was missing, leaving a hole. But worst of all, the window was tiny and on one side of the wall, making the room incredibly dark. You could see the mountain if you looked at an angle. We did complain after the first day. The fact our room hadn’t been made up until after we arrived back at 4pm was the last straw. We were told by the lady behind reception that the tags you put on the door asking for it to be made up mean nothing and you should phone reception if you want your room made up earlier in the day. She also explained that she may have been able to do something if we had told her before 10am. They really know how to make their guests feel welcome! We were upgraded on the last night to the superior room with Mountain View. It was like a completely different hotel. Unless you do book one of the premium rooms, you will have a 2 star experience. Even the mattresses in the standard rooms are smaller and cheap (very bouncy). Such a shame as the hotel is really well located. I have given the hotel 2 stars, which is reflective of the guest experience.
