Hotel Villa Serena

The service was amazing, special thank you to the bartender that was so sweet and made us try the best drinks! The beds are super comfortable. Dreamy location. The hotel would maybe need a little refresh. Nice menu with a lot of vegan options!

I stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. The room is spacious and had two large beds, the bathroom was beautiful with large mirror and a bathtub. The balcony had ocean view and a hammock. There is a restaurant inside the property, a pool and a yoga barn. And a small private beach with turquoise water :) La Playita beach is near by ( walkable distance) and it’s sooo pretty! You can watch the sunset there as well. I had a great time at Villa Serena and next time I go to Dominican Republic, I’ll definitely stay there again.

This place is located in one of the most beautiful spots in DR. If you are looking for a very relaxing vacation, this is a perfect place. The satff is very friendly and helpfull. From the hotel you can book a boat to go to many beaches nearby that only can be reached by bota such as Fronton, Playa Colorada and end your journey at Playa Rincon where you can eat and spend the day in this white sand beach.

Once again a truly beautiful time at Villa Serena. I would go for the ocean views and breeze alone, but once you add on the amazing masseuse Maria, the trip becomes perfect! Warm and friendly staff, and yoga in the morning.

After walking past Villa Serena on a previous visit we vowed we would be back to stay! It’s been amazing. From initial reservation through to our arrival and stay. The staff are amazing. Yoga every morning with Angelina has been fabulous…. The right way to start the day. A short walk to our favorite beach La Playita….lazing around the swimming pool and enjoying a great array of cocktails from the Tiki Bar. The massages are to die for! The food has been delicious. Great selection at breakfast with fresh fruits, numerous cooked options and some very special veggie juices. Dinners too have not disappointed. Most of all the staff have been so friendly and professional. New Year’s Eve tonight at Villa Serena will be memorable!

Villa Serena is a charming and wonderful hotel. The view of the beach and the sea from the room is excellent. The rooms have a balcony with rocking chairs and a hammock. The bed is comfortable. The restaurant has a very varied menu and the food is good. The wifi works very well. The water in the shower is hot though the water pressure is weak. The staff is friendly. I hope to return in the future.

What a wonderful place to wake up in, pull aside ceiling high drapes and luxuriate in the breathtaking view over a lush garden, and beyond to the rippling ocean with waves breaking over a distant reef. We spent a week in this paradise. The staff were kind wonderful people. Some spoke English, and we wished we could do a better job with Spanish. The hotel was apparently completed 30 years ago, but spoke of another era of Serenity that stretches further into the past. So aptly named! TripAdvisor encourages sharing not just the good, which is not so easy. Ok. Next time we visit we will bring a bottle of cheap vinegar to dissolve accretions inside the shower head which seriously limited its spray quality…..

Absolutely beautiful and relaxing place. Stunning rooms, lovely staff, and the sea in your face. Good food too. Don't hesitate to book it. Las Galeras is a quiet village with plenty of restaurants and the beach Playita (10 minutes walk from Villa Sirena) is jaw-dropping. Don't waste time on the DR overcrowded south coast with its horrible hotels - get in a taxi, even for $300, and come here.

What a magical experience at Villa Serena. The location was great, so quiet and far away from the tourists in other parts of the Dominican Republic. We had a free upgrade to our room which was such an unexpected surprise, the balcony overlooking the view was amazing. The pool was beautiful and overlooking the ocean, the restaurant had a great view also. We loved having access to use the kayaks, canoes and snorkels from the hotel. The hotel has a little beach to itself that you can use for swimming etc. It was only a short walk to Playita which is a bigger, beautiful beach, and we got directions from reception to take a short route, maybe 10 minutes. One highlight of this hotel is the yoga classes we took with Angelina every morning, she was incredible at getting us to relax and strengthen ourselves - we are not normally massive yoga people but these classes in the beautiful surroundings were too good to miss. There were always cute little dogs and cats around which was great because we are animal lovers. We will miss this place so much!
