Premier Inn Lancaster

No air con, windows are locked so that they only open a crack, 30 degrees in the room. No sleep. Gym next door had a large group of vaping men hanging outside til very late. Because of this we could not even open the curtains. The room itself was fine - clean and as expected.

Needed somewhere to crash for the night after a very busy day. As this was just off the M6 and not far outside of Lancaster it was ideal. Arrived late as was dropped off so needed to get checked in and to bed, very effecient check in, quiet nights sleep.

Staff were brilliant room was perfect and eating breakfast and evening meal was good and felt very relaxed................................................................. ...............................................

Stayed for one night to break our journey north. Hotel was ideally situated just off the M6. The room was as you would expect for a premier inn. Very clean with comfortable bed and bedding. However the communal areas looked a little tired and shabby. Also the lift wasn't working not sure it ever does looking at other reviews. We were on the 2nd floor which was a challenge for me as I have bad knees but thought the lift would have been repaired as the sign said an engineer had been called. Purchased a meal deal then went to the restaurant. The starter wasn't great as it tasted as if it had been cooked in very old oil, the main course was OK then went to order dessert and they had to check as the kitchen closed at 8.30. Breakfast was in the restaurant and the table we were shown to had massive snail trails all underneath. Could have asked to move but by that time I had been put off eating there at all. All in all not my favourite Premier Inn and doubt we would stay here again.

In traditional music hall style, there was good news and bad news. Room was clean and well prepared (they always are) and check-in was quick and easy (not always the case). I'm still not sure whether the Premier Plus room gives you free Ultimate W-Fi (I got sent a password but not a voucher code so it would have cost me) and the regular wi-fi was appalling. Lift was also out of order (which only affected arrival and departure for our luggage load). It also appears the buffet breakfast options have been reduced - fewer yoghurt flavours, less juice options, not so many pastries.....if you want your hot food on a hot plate you also have to ask for this, and the toast needs three circuits of the machine before it changes colour. It's still good value, it's just not as good as a few years ago. Lancaster is my Premier Inn of choice when I travel up north - it's a great location for my needs (close to the by-pass). So, when it's time to head that way again any gripes this time won't affect decision making to book immediately.

We went for my husband's birthday and it was quite disappointing. Although we received a warm welcome with very efficient check in, the room was quite poor. The bed was very uncomfortable, with the sheet not even being big enough. The bathroom floor was broken and uneven and there were broken glass bottles all outside. We had breakfast at the brewers fayer and it was quite a let down. Very overcooked and lukewarm at best. I wouldn't recommend.
