We spent one night at this Fairfield Inn in Denver. It looks like it is a relatively new hotel, and given that fact we really expected a better experience. The bed was not comfortable at all, it was saggy & lumpy. Either the hotel got mattresses from old hotels when they opened, or they bought some really cheap mattresses. Whatever the case, we did not get a very restful night of sleep. The breakfast was supposed to begin at 6:30 am. We got down there a bit early, because we had a very long drive that day. When there was basically nothing ready at 6:25, we knew we were in trouble. There were no bowls for the cereal, no hot food, the juice machine was turned off, and no muffins or pastries. At 6:35, they finally start bringing out a few items. We basically had to eat our cereal out of coffee cups since there were still no bowls. The oatmeal was cold and extremely undercooked, to the point where it was inedible. We never did see any meat (bacon or sausage), so we just had a couple of cold pre-cooked eggs on a stale bagel. No banana nut or blueberry muffins (the ones that everyone likes), instead there were dried out chocolate chip muffins. The cream cheese, while refrigerated, was rancid. Around 6:40 am the juice machine was finally turned on. We finally had to leave around 6:50 because we had such a long drive. Our final thoughts on the breakfast.........if the employees are going to move that slowly in the morning, perhaps they should start breakfast around 6:00, like most hotels. For the price we paid (over $220) for one night, we expected much better. This hotel looked really good on paper/online, but they really pulled the wool over our eyes. Denver is a large metropolitan area....if you are traveling there we recommend skipping this hotel and shopping around, there any plenty of other choices out there. No need for management to reply and/or apologize, they are clearly aware of these shortcomings already and chose to do nothing about them.
