*** Summer 2025 - Lake Lure Update *** Per the website www.townoflakelure.com: Lake Use in 2025- Town Council and Town leadership are keenly aware of the importance of reopening the Lake as soon as it is safe to do so. Given the timing of the work that has been completed thus far and the need for ongoing work moving forward, it is extremely unlikely that the Lake will be able to open for the 2025 summer season. (This includes motorized and non-motorized vessels and swimming.) For those of you who have been following our storm recovery process closely, this news may not be a surprise to you. I thought it was important to share this news with you directly. Please note that Town Council and Town leadership will continue to evaluate options for opening the Lake or portions of the Lake and we will continue to keep you informed with any updates as new information becomes available. If you are looking to escape to the beauty of nature, the picturesque atmosphere of Ridgetop Landing is just for you! This beautiful craftsman-style home is located in Lake Lure Village Resort, a private, gated community that began as a children’s summer camp. This getaway is nestled between beautiful Lake Lure and Rumbling Bald Mountain, with over 1,000 acres of undeveloped land. It is perfect for all activity levels, from easy walking to rock rappelling. This home is 3 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 3.4 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 21.5 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC). Plan to spend your nights watching deer, wild turkeys, owls, and flying squirrels, but please do not feed the bears! A waterfall and several creeks are located within the community, and there is also a hiking trail. Lake Life Living also offers Lake Lure access just a short drive from the home, with a canoe at the lakeside for your use. Maximum Comfort In the home, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on 2 levels, an open kitchen, and living area with lots of windows, a beautiful large stone fireplace, private office room with a glass door for those who need to work while away from home, spacious side deck with beautiful mountain views allowing you and your family plenty of privacy and an abundance of space with maximum comfort. Perfect for Every Season Each season offers its own unique, unrivaled beauty. Whether you enjoy campfires with s’mores and an acoustic guitar, camping beneath the stars, packing a picnic lunch for the trail, or adventuring into town to see the sights, you will find that the sky’s the limit for your next getaway to remember! AREA WIDE NOTICE: Lake Lure will undergo a drawdown from January 1st, 2025, through the first quarter of 2025(March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet have been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. For more information, click here. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. This will not affect the smaller lakes in the area, only Lake Lure itself. No pets, no exceptions Smoking is prohibited in all of our vacation rental homes. Parking for 2 vehicles. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. local time or anytime after. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. local time or anytime earlier.
