Hotel Rotwand

Our worst experience in Italy in a month. We reserved for 4 days with half board as a heat wave built up, selecting Hotel Rotwand due to their website's advertisement of mountain views, access to the Dolomites, and for the promise of air conditioning and the swimming pool to keep cool. In fact, this hotel is in a residential neighborhood on the edge of an industrial and agricultural valley with highways and railways in the view; there is no view of the Dolomites. One night's stay revealed that the air conditioner in the room operated so poorly the room temperature only decreased below 25 by morning making sleeping difficult. The swimming pool was inaccessible due to an infestation of wasps that the hotel claimed they could do nothing about. We left the next morning, telling the father of the family that operates the hotel upon checkout the above problems, and have found out that they charged us for the whole 4 days, including the half board fees for food we didn't eat. Contacts with the family owners led nowhere as they state that is their policy, but they took no responsibility for the misleading description of the hotel's location, lack of views, and discomfort. They basically stole 600+ Euros from us. Just because they can take the money, based on a policy they created, doesn't mean they should. It is shameful greed. The wonderful hospitality that we have experienced all over Italy over the last 4 weeks of traveling does not extend to Hotel Rotwand's owners.

very nice hotel outside Bolzano! good restaurant with something for everybody, nice (smaller) pool, great views, the room was nice and had air condition, friendly staff. parking is just outside the hotel. we stayed one night when driving from Sweden to Venezia. we wanted to stay at the hotel again on the way home but it was fully booked. I can defenitely recommend this hotel.

Auf dem Heimweg und nach einem Shopping Nachmittag in Bozen hatten wir im Hotel Rotwand in der Stube ein Abendessen und Wein von der Karte und das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war sehr gut. Allerdings möchte ich mich in einem Hotel in dieser Kategorie vor allem im Zimmer wohlfühlen. Ich hatte bei diesen Bewertungen, die ja immer sehr subjektiv und individuell sind, eine andere Erwartung. Durchgelegene Matratze in einem laut Beschreibung neu renovierten Zimmer. Eine dreckige, klebrige Fernbedienung, verschimmelte Dichtungen an der Dusch-Schiebetür, ein DIN A4-Brett als Mininachttisch, extrem laute Abwassergeräusch von oben. Und das nennt man dann Gartenresidenz. Googeln Sie mal Residenz. Ich habe alle Punkte angesprochen und diese wurden an der Rezeption auch angemessen angenommen. Ich frag mich nur, warum muss es dazu kommen.

Een familiehotel, en dat merk je. Iedereen even vriendelijk en attent. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst. Mooie schone kamer. Klein maar goed plonsbad. Goede bar. Heerlijk eten; uitgebreide keuze. Goede bedden. Goed ontbijtbuffet. Bescheiden rekening (ook voor het eten).

5 Erwachsene sehen auf 1 Woche Aufenthalt hier im Hotel zurück: Freundliches Personal, super Frühstück, schöne Zimmer mit Klimaanlage, Pool für angenehme Abkühlung nach einer Wanderung. Durch die Hanglage liegt das Hotel trotz Nähe zur Hauptsraße sehr ruhig. Park- und Garagenplätze vorhanden. Hochwertige Spiesen im hauseigenen Restaurant mit toller Atmosphäre.

Hotel esternamente molto carino. Lo stesso non posso dire della camera. Abbiamo prenotato nella struttura ‘nuova’ una stanza con doccia idromasaggio, con sauna e cromoterapia. Penso sia il vero elemento a favore. Affacciavamo direttamente sulla piscina e la prima notte hanno dimenticato di spegnere la cascata che vi si riversa. Sembrava di dormire sotto il diluvio. Altro elemento negativo è l’assenza di segnale Wi-Fi, sebbene non fosse riservato alle sole aree comuni. Ultimo appunto: avrei voluto una colazione più variegata, con meno prodotti confezionati. Personale gentilissimo.

Ho prenotato presso questa struttura ovviamente guardando foto e recensioni, il sito dove sorge l' hotel non era di mio gusto ma questo annetto essere chiaramente soggettivo, molto comodo per raggiungere Bolzano o Merano, la camera molto pulita ma piccola eravamo in tre, arredamento normale non nuovo, il personale molto gentile e disponibile, però con la pecca di poca attenzione al particolare riguardo alla camera tipo poco sapone e mancanza di alcuni asciugamani, su richiesta nostra sono prontamente intervenuti ma avrebbero dovuto pensarci prima, abbiamo fatto mezza pensione cibo buono ed abbondante, colazione buona ma potrebbe essere più variata. Però come detto nel titolo mi aspettavo di più da un tre stelle super.

Abbiamo soggiornato per capodanno. Questo hotel è ottimo ma a mio parere ha alcune piccole lacune che irrimediabilmente fanno scendere il mio voto. Il personale (azienda a condizione familiare) è meraviglioso e sempre cordiale. Ristorante ottimo, abbiamo scelto la mezza pensione ed abbiamo sempre cenato bene, porzioni abbonda e qualità del cibo superba. Camere pulite (contesto fermamente gli utenti che dicono il contrario) sottolineando come ogni giorno venga fatto il cambio degli asciugamani (a differenza di molti hotel dove te li lasciano se hai un breve soggiorno). Ora arriva la parte negativa, o perlomeno quella che ha inficiato nella mia valutazione finale: la struttura è composta da hotel ed un residence con degli appartamenti. Noi abbiamo soggiornato in quest‘ultimi. Ammetto che le camere erano poco insonorizzate tra loro rendendo quasi udibili le conversazioni delle camere accanto o addirittura di quelle al piano superiore. Per questo motivo tolgo mezza stella. Bagno piccolo ma funzionale, ma manca una cosa per me fondamentale: il bidet. Non posso pensare che abbiano deciso di mettere un vano doccia spazioso eliminando un sanitario necessario per una corretta igiene. Ma anche su questo posso capire di essere un po’ troppo esigente io ed è per questo che tolgo in altra mezza stella. Quello che ha fatto scendere la valutazione a 3 stelle è il letto. Un letto matrimoniale composto da 2 materassi (cosa oscena ma su cui posso anche sorvolare). Il problema è che sia i materassi che le doghe sono da buttare. Materassi morbidi al punto che sprofondi, ed il risultato è stato che io, accentuato anche dal fatto di avere una schiena debole, ho passato 3 notti insonne, rovinando così una bella vacanza. Peccato!

Voto 10: accoglienza, ospitalità, pulizia, gentilezza, cordialità. Conduzione familiare che mette a proprio agio. Ambienti perfettamente riscaldati in inverno. Prezzi accessibili e giusti. Parcheggio disponibile. Consigliatissimo.
