Apartamentos Cordial Mogán Valle

Had a wonderful holiday at the Cordial Mogan Apartments in the first week of November. Thoroughly recommend for a great value stay in a beautiful area of GC. Reception- greeted with excellent customer service from all staff. Yolanda and Nasim were very helpful with all queries and managed the check-in with professionalism. Accommodation- spacious, clean and well-equipped. We had a superior apartment for the safe and air-con. No issues with bugs or cockroaches. Saw one dead one outside in the whole time we were there. There is a schedule for cleaning & towel-changes and the apartments offer superb space for a family including a large balcony. The piano music in the restaurant opposite provides a nice ambience in the evening whilst sat on the balcony. Pool & bar areas- well-kept with lifeguard keeping the kids safe and temp absolutely fine. Great pool snack bar and kids were happy playing in both the main children’s pool and splash park. Didn’t try the other 2 pools. Animation - lovely team of young people who work really hard and gave the kids a great time. Highlight was the mini disco which the kids looked forward to every night. Spa- used a few times as it is amazing! Restaurant- buffet is excellent and very good value. We preferred the second sitting as it was quieter. There are of course plenty of restaurant options in Mogan but if you don’t want to venture out then the food at the restaurant offers plenty of choice. Thank you to Cordial Mogan Valle- we’ll be back without a doubt!

Great family hotel however let down by the tatty appearance in parts of the building. Ripped canopy on balcony (reported to staff) didn’t make a great first impression. Rubbish along corridors that remained there for the majority of our stay, t shirt left on rails of staircase for 4 days, this could have been removed and placed into lost property. Despite the above, there were nice touches such as complimentary sweets for the children and a great splash pool for toddlers. If your housekeeping staff were ahead of their game I’d of rated our experience higher.

We loved this place. We had a two bedroom apartment for a family of four and were self catering. It was spacious and well set out - one bedroom has an en suite and there is another bathroom too, so effectively each room is en suite. One room has a BIG double bed and the other has twin beds, plenty of cupboard space. large bathrooms with good showers. The balcony is great, with its own table and chairs and sunbed and an adjustable awning so you can have sun or shade as you like (though ours had trees just next to it which blocked out most of the sun - but it was conveniently close to the pool). The kitchen area is ok - there's a small hob and a microwave and a small fridge with small freezer area. Reasonably but not amazingly well equipped and it can be a challenge to keep the ants away so I don't think we'd have wanted to do any serious cooking or keep too much food around. (fortunately there are loads of nice restaurants nearby) The staff were friendly and lovely and everywhere was very clean. Reception staff were really helpful. Lots of gorgeous kittens and cats around who added to the entertainment. It's built up the side of a hill with about maybe 8 levels and a fairly complex system of lifts but it's all well signposted and once you get your bearings its fine. It's a 2-3 minute walk to a supermarket and a complex with a few bars and restaurants, and a ten minute walk to the utterly beautiful beach and marina areas where there are numerous restaurants, bars and shops. It's a very pretty resort. The Friday morning market goes from just outside the hotel down nearly to the beach, along the pedestrian walkway you take when going to the main resort area, and is worth a visit - many of the same things you get in the shops but cheaper and haggle-able. This is very near to 5 stars.... only very small and not particularly significant reasons not to be perfect, and mostly not anything the hotel can do anything about! The sun doesn't reach any of the hotel til about 10 am earliest (November) because of its position on the side of a hill, and the lower pools don't open til 10 so if you're a person who likes the early weaker sun, you don't get it. Also it would be nice to be a bit closer to the pretty marina - but honestly it's a very easy walk. And the kitchen can't be used to do proper self catering I don't think, though it was fine for our needs (basic breakfast and bread-cheese-and-wine type lunches on the balcony). We would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again.
