Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas

The third time this year, we decided to come back to what this lovely welcoming hotel was. However, we are somewhat disappointed this time around. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, lovely surroundings at the hotel on one of the best beaches in Europe, our opinion. Room allocation is perfect on arrival and offered us to go straight to the restaurant for something to eat 22.15 hrs late arrival, very welcoming because of flight delays. Restaurant staff is the most friendly and welcoming, lovely food for all tastes. Room cleaned daily by a lovely, hard-working lady, thank you. We've rated this booking down only due to the fact as a RIU now Gold class member and have over 5000 points available, we could not extend our room allocation for an extra couple of hours as previously they have done for us. Was told at reception the hotel is busy tomorrow. However, we felt like there was no attempt to juggle this about to offer us our request. We understand that there are busy times, but feel as a loyal RIU HOTELS Gold member and haven't had previous problems in extending room allocation would be a problem. Overall lovely hotel, great location and staff but don't know if we would book this hotel again if late flights were only available.

Just returned back from a wonderful holiday. The location of the hotel is fabulous, among the sand dunes and on the beach. The hotel itself is lovely. The staff are super helpful and friendly. We went half board and that was ample for us. We didn't spend what we would have done had we paid for AI. The food was great. A lot of choice and very tasty. The burgers especially were very nice! The room was spacious, even with an extra bed in. It was cleaned to an excellent standard every day. You collect clean pool towels every day. The pools themselves were clean and nice and cool. The only thing I would say is that some of the sunbed cushions require changing as they are heavily marked. Yes, the hotel is dated but adds to the charm. This doesn't detract from how clean the whole place is. All in all we had a great holiday, felt very looked after and have come home chilled.

Hotel is a little bit older but still keep RIU quality. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Location is perfect. Near beautiful long sandy beach and amazing ocean. The rating is slightly spoiled by the cuisine. For me, the food was bland, tasteless, without spices. But that is a feature of hotel cuisine, although not every cuisine. I know hotels with better cuisine. Only one key - traditional, metal. And also greetings to the security lady (with a mohawk), who followed me around the entire facility demanding to see the room keys, even though I gave her my name and room number, which she verified, but that was not enough. And also elevators. They just live their own lives and do whatever they want

I have been to the Tres Islas a number of times. Always clean with excellent food and a very pleasant staff

Fantastic! This hotel gives you every thing you could wish for. Beautiful room, food, pool and the beach is one of the best we have every visited. I think all rooms come with a wonderful sea view. Loved our stay here. It would be helpful though if the hotel stuck to the no reserving of sun beds. We've been to hotels that do not allow sun beds to be reserved before 9.30am. Of course you can claim your beds but have to stay on them if it's before the said time. October is a good time to go as the island isn't so windy.

We have stayed at this hotel on at least 10 previous occasions. Riu hotel standards are excellent and it is in a beautiful location. Prosecco on arrival and suitcases are taken to your room. All staff are amazing! Reception staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Short taxi ride to town. Entertainment every evening. Highly recommended.

I have just returned from another excellent stay at the Riu Palace Tres Islas. I love this hotel. Location, food and service are all excellent.The grand old lady is starting to show her age but I guess that is what makes it so affordable. Next visit already booked.

An honest review since we have been visiting the Tres Islas for some 20 years and 40 individual visits In this time we have seen the hotel go from being number one In Coralajo to its lowly position now it was the hotel to go to !! The hotel is now unfortunately in decline like most of us over 20 years the food was once exquisite but now it’s obvious that due to cost of everything going up the Hotel has seen massive cut backs in it’s expenditure on food. I understand Riu are attempting to get permission to Update the hotel but local orthorities are not playing ball thus reluctance to spend on the hotel this could be wrong but it’s what people are saying But money could be spent on new carpets In corridors and bedrooms and new beds are desperately needed beds that are on wheels and roll around are not acceptable in 2024 !! So to write our take on things now Staff Are true 5 star and Martin in Restaurant is a top guy he works to provide the very best service he can give . Food I would say food is 3+star Pools Tiles missing and look unsightly and WERE So COLD very few people were venturing in it looks like pool heating has succumbed to the cut backs and may just be going to be heated in Winter Cleanliness Top notch 5 star Location Located on a beach that rivals any in Caribbean fantastic All Inclusive It’s not all inclusive you can’t have Irish Coffee, or fresh orange and all drinks provided on All inclusive are local brands if you pay you get the real thing ie Baileys not Irish Cream etc etc Management It looks like the hotel has new management and things are slowly being turned round but without the funds progress will be slow Birds On last visit Birds were freely flying around restaurant and contaminating food this seems to have been sorted out and we witnessed no birds in Restaurant All in if you have booked you will be well looked after overall we say it is a decent 3 star plus’s hotel and yes we will be going again

Another fantastic holiday at Tres Islas. Every member of staff fantastic, food fantastic choice, a perfect relaxing holiday with fantastic beach and sand dunes.
