Arenal Waterfall Lodge Villas

All for of us liked the hotel. Beautiful view from the swimming pool. Friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and original, with lots of wood. It is a large property with a few cabins here and there in addition to the main lodge that has more typical rooms. There is a 2 hour hike from the property to the lake

Nice and quiet hotel. If you have a car is ok, but if you have to walk is a little far from the downtown. Breakfast is good, it has a good parking place, a small piscine. We had a good time and slept like a babies because there is no noise… bed are comfortable

WORST PLACE !! Run!! Checked in on 29th of November, left my villa for a tour, came back 3 hours later to find out that both of our MacBooks , my Garmin watch, AirPods and even iPhone charger were stolen and my bathing suite , by hotel workers! How do I know it was hotel workers- because no sign of break in, our villa was open with the key by those thief and they locked the door after themselves after they stole $3000 worth of our belongings. When we approached them they just started playing stupid, like oh, no way, blah blah, one of them even came to our room and started taking pictures- of what? Stolen stuff that is not in the room? It couldn’t be more obvious that it’s an inside job. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here

Great place with amazing homes and views. We enjoyed hiking directly from the property and walking to the nearby Arenal waterfalls. The staff are friendly and helpful. This place is in the rainforest and on the side of a mountain with amazing views. We can’t wait to come back to this resort.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in February, 2023 and were given Room #12 . As soon as we started walking to the room after checking in we knew we were in trouble when we saw it was a free-standing bungalow at the top of the property. From the restaurant/pool area to the room it was 88 STEPS!! Gravel and stone steps! We asked for another room but we were told there were no other rooms available. The bungalow was spacious, separate rooms for sleeping, kitchen and dining area BUT: Hot water in shower only lasted 3 minutes (timed it) Not enough light No place to put toiletries in shower room (had to put them on the floor) No TV No outside sitting area That was our experience with the room. The restaurant was only OK. Breakfast choices are very limited. We did not use the pool. However, the staff at the desk were helpful in making reservations to the hot springs at Paradise Springs (highly recommend) and, a river safari with Canoa Aventura in the Cano ***** Wildlife Refuge on the Rio Frio (highlight of our stay in that area)

This place looks like it was abandoned quite a while ago. Everything was run down in the main lodge. Maybe the separate bungalow would be better but it cost a lot more. Outdoors, the concrete was cracked and unpainted in many places, and there were all kinds of old signs faded and cracked that described hydroponics and solar arrays and other sustainable projects and features that are now busted and abandoned. The room was tiny and dark with mushy creaky beds and ugly small windows with old curtains. The outdoor hot tub was cold, and all fountains were dry. It was like everyone left in hurry or it changed owners.
