Domaine les Rochers

One of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. The owners are so helpful especially when I got a urine infection, they assured me that I would be able to get antibiotics at the hospital which stopped me worrying. We hired bikes from them. We also booked a snorkelling trip through them. So handy to be able to book everything in one place. The beds are really comfortable with a mosquito net, but it does get light very early (6am). We had a huge wrap round terrace and there are nice comfy sun loungers in the grounds. It was a nice touch to have some water, eggs, bread, juice and fruit provided. There’s also a washing machine with powder provided. The aircon is good and there is fast WiFi. There’s also a hairdryer as good as mine at home. The attention to detail is perfect.

My wife and I wanted to visit La Digue in the Seychelles but there’s such a lot of accommodation that we didn’t know where to start. Domaine Les Rochers popped up on the search and so we decided to book 3 nights there. What a great decision that turned out to be. The booking process was easy and after letting Costas (the owner, along with his wife Paula) know our arrival time he said that he would meet us off the ferry. As good as his word, there he was with a golf buggy and drove us the short distance to his property. Wow! He turned off the main street into a tropical garden oasis which was to be our home for the next few days. Peaceful and tranquil is the only way to describe it and we were certainly impressed. A cold drink followed by an introduction to the island and Costas then took us through the garden to our accommodation. We had booked an apartment which turned out to be one of only two in a relatively new building called Takamaka, named after the trees which grow round about. The whole site only has two apartment buildings and perhaps three bungalows and so it certainly isn’t crowded. We were on the first floor with a long balcony overlooking the garden, a huge bedroom with a sitting area and a large bathroom with an impressively sized shower. Oh, and we also had a separate fully equipped kitchen which even has a Nespresso machine – Costas said that as he liked his coffee he felt that his guests should be able to enjoy a good cup as well! Seriously, the attention to detail is extremely high and we really couldn’t come up with anything which we might need that wasn’t provided. La Digue isn’t large and cycling is the preferred form of transport – not surprisingly, Costas had lots of bicycles available to choose from. It seems that he and Paula have thought of everything. The property is close to shops and restaurants and probably no more that 100 mts or so from the sea. A bonus is that it’s all flat without a hill in sight unless you choose to venture a bit further from home. Although island life is slow our 3 nights passed by very quickly and then Costas was on hand to drive us back to the ferry. We shook hands and boarded the ferry having had a most wonderful few days in paradise – thank you so much.

Warm welcome for Costas. Fantastic apartment, with bedroom & ensuite, then huge balcony with lovely kitchen - basically an entire floor to ourselves. Tasteful decoration of both accommodation and surroundings. Very well thought out. Comfy bed and good air conditioning. Huge bathroom with large walk in shower, toilet & bidet. Kitchen perfect for our stay, and came with starter supplies (water, milk, eggs, bread, fruit, butter, oils, salt pepper, tea & coffee), as well as washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, plates & cutlery etc & large fridge freezer. Bike storage available at entrance and throughout site, and bike hire available at a good price Overall - highly highly recommended!

High end, stunning apartments, great location, beautiful grounds, attentive owners and such pleasant staff who made our stay so comfortable. From the initial introduction to the island until the final checkout, everything was just perfect. We will return for sure

We stayed in one of the upstairs newish apartments, called Kaz Takamaka. Costas had Pretty much everything thought through, to make the self catering experience a joy. Very luxurious fixtures and fittings, excellent towels and bedding, seemed like they were changed every day, piping hot water, good aircon and over head fan, fully stocked kitchen utensils and cooking facilities. Nespresso type machine refilled every day. Great welcome pack and detailed welcome briefing about things to do. Gardens very well kept and housekeeping team do an excellent job, highly recommend DLR if looking for self catering within walking distance of jetty. We cooked 3nights out of 5 and whilst la Digue isn’t blessed with fresh produce, the facilities we had made things so much easier.

Eine wunderschöne ruhige,gepflegte Anlage mit ausreichend Platz und Komfort. Die Begrüssung durch die Gastgeber-Familie war herzlich und wir bekamen gute Tips. Auch der Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und wenn man mal länger beim Frühstück saß, kamen sie gern auch später zum Putzen. Angenehm war auch das Fahrrad-Service vor Ort, dass man für eine kleine Gebühr mitbuchen konnte.
