Hostal Spa Empúries

We truly adore this wonderful location, Hotel and atmosphere and are regulars, for some time. While all was perfectly fine as to Hotel and room (I am not the greatest fan of the pillows, for me a tick too firm), we were a bit unhappy with the staff at the bar. We felt that as non-Catalan-speaking guests (we are foreigners, making an effort to speak Spanish) we were not given the kindness and friendly attention that we were used to. Maybe the crew was already tired (Sunday evening), so nothing really grave, but clearly notable this time. The other thing I really need to stress, is that we had much better dinners in your lovely restaurant in earlier days. To us the menu was not very exciting, plus the solomilio and the fried fish were clearly below Spanish/ Catalan standards. The (Russian) service was friendly and competent, no complaints here. All in all, we left this time with a bit of sweet and sour taste. BUT No worries, w´ll be back anyways....

Perfect place I love it very nice room quiet and clean with a magical view. Location perfect for stay relaxed and make a walk near by the see. I recommend . The spa is really cozy and quiet with a good vibe. Massages also really good and professional

A lovely spot by the sea, away from the crush and crash of city life. A place to relax and unwind. The restaurant is acceptable but nothing exceptional. There is however an outdoor cafe that prepares a fascinating array of Greco-roman dishes that vibe well with the historical ruins of empuries that abut the hotel. Cool synergy. The spa was a bit of a disappointments. It is set to be remodeled in Jan 2025 and it was clear that not much had been looked after in the countdown to the re-do. Most upsetting was the fact that it was COLD in the spa on Christmas Day. Big disappointment.

A stunning location - perfect for a getaway and spacious rooms with a brilliant Spa. We loved being able to walk up to local restaurants and take in the sea air as well as watch the sunrise over the Gulf of Roses. The Greco-Roman ruins next door are well worth a visit and the use of audio (QR Code scanned via your phone) to explain the sights was very impressive! Their commitment to providing low impact, sustainable hospitality is to be commended. Have had warmer welcomes from staff particularly considering we stayed there for 4 days but didn’t get recognised once. Access is a little confusing the first time you arrive as Parking is in the midst of 2 other parking areas (it also costs a supplement of €5 per day). Easy access to Figueres, Girona and the coastal villages - great for Dali and other Museums as well as pottery, fabrics and furniture.

AMAZING location and one we will never forget. Reception was was great and room was beyond gorgeous!! so nice. such a treat to stay here. We were blown away by the walking and history near the ocean. Swimming was such a joy. Really Relaxing and we enjoyed immensely

My son and I stayed here for 2 nights. This hotel is an absolute joy. Beautiful sea views of the L'escala coast. The beach is literally opposite the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful, and the food is lovely. My son and I were originally given a double room. We requested a twin and even though they were very busy they managed to accomodate us.
