Absolutely loved the stay in this hip spot! The hotel is considered iconic for a reason: the design is overwhelmingly cool, rooms are comfortable and spacious with a good selection of drinks a vinyls (!), restaurants have great vibes and serve excellent food. Service - as polite and helpful as it can get. Honestly, I can’t imagine myself booking any other places for my next stay in Kyoto. Pure love

Here’s a revised version of your sentences: The location was acceptable but not ideal. There are two subway stations within a 2-3 minute walking distance, and you can easily walk to Nishiki Market. I stayed in the Historic Twin room. I love the layout, but the cleanliness was disappointing. The mini bar items were dusty, and it wasn't the same as when I first stayed here three years ago. I appreciate their amenities; they are both practical and stylish. The staff's quality really depends on who you encounter. When I checked in, I met someone who was very kind, but I had a negative experience with another staff member when I left.

Great funky and cool new hotel in a very convenient area of Kyoto. The vibe is just very chill and with many facilities nearby this is the ideal place to stay. Subway is just minutes away and down the street are many small bakery shops. The staff is very helpful and the facilities are great. Close to the Palace or can with a bit of a walk get to Nishiki market. Highly recommended

Great design and chilled atmosphere. Roomy space and friendly staff. Even better environment than NYC Ace. Didn't try the food there, since I am not a big fan of American food. Good stay overall.

The room is nice and well equipped, the staff are also attentive and friendly- unfortunately that is as far as it goes. The hotel lobby is permanently packed full of people who are not staying at the hotel. This is because ace hotels run a “public reception area” concept , so there is never anywhere to sit and wait for your taxi / other guests travelling with you , because all areas are occupied by rando m people off the street. For a hotel that costs in excess of £1000 / $15000 for 3 nights this simply isn’t good enough. The food is also not good. We tried the bar / restaurants and it was a complete joke , food prepared by students and clearly un trained. We had to return our drinks. We paid for the breakfast but I'd advise you to avoid and just eat nearby at the many options that a re much better. Overall if you only care about the room you’ll be fine - because the room is nice ! But that’s about it. If I only wanted a nice room I’d have booked an AIRBNB instead.

Amazing hotel in Kyoto. Great design, amenities, room size and attention to details. Cleanliness done perfectly every day. Many restaurants nearby and convenient access to public transport.

Super nice retro-fitting hotel with all the details presented in a consistent style and tone. The vinyl record collection was impressive. Staff were super friendly and helpful!

Super friendly staff, service is top notch. Just 10 minutes drive from Kyoto station, not in a touristy area which was great for us!

If I could live in this hotel, I would. It’s beautiful, the service and staff are so gracious and welcoming, and it’s cool in a way that doesn’t make it feel uninclusive. The deep bathtub was wonderful after a day of walking and the products from uka were especially nice. (I even bought a couple of them after checking out.) The slippers and robes were lovely and the little bench in my room with a cushion and record player was a key hang out spot.

Staffs are so friendly and the view and lobby are so beautiful, especially at night. Also, bathroom and shower booth are spacious.

Simple yet Beautiful Hotel. Great hospitality and vibes. Definitely will stay again for my next trip to Japan 😁
