Ashnil Mara Camp

My wife and I had an unforgettable experience visiting the Masai Mara Game Reserve, where we stayed at the beautiful Ashnil Mara Camp. The camp provided exceptional comfort, delicious meals, and stunning views of the Mara River, making our stay even more special. The breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife left us in awe. We were fortunate to see the Big Four lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards up close in their natural habitat. The only animal we missed was the rhino, but the overall safari was nothing short of amazing. The guides were knowledgeable and ensured we made the most of our time in the reserve. Staying at Ashnil Mara Camp added a touch of luxury to our adventure, and we can’t wait to return for another visit!

Ashnil Mara Camp is an ideal camp to experience the Masai Mara in comfort. Right by the Mara River, it’s perfect for game drives, with knowledgeable guides like Koech, who take you close to big cats, elephants, and more. The tents are comfortable with private decks, and the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. In the evenings, you can unwind by the campfire or enjoy the sounds of the wild from your deck. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Our first time in Kenya and first time on safari. Ashnil made our trip truly magical. Edward and Alan were our guides and they were amazing. We saw so many incredible animals - every one was our new favourite. Edward was very respectful to all the animals and we saw everything from baby elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, baby lions, baby hyenas and so many colourful birds! Alan was so lovely to have on board- he is going to make a great tour guide one day! Ashnil camp itself is a calm and relaxing environment. Watching the baby hippos and crocodiles from the dining room never got boring. Moses was a fabulous host and looked after us at every meal time. The tent we stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable which was needed after a tiring day on the game drives. The noise of the hippos waking us up in the morning, we miss already! We would recommend Ashnil for anyone wanting to explore the Masai Mara.

A staff member at the “ashnit MARA CAMP” tried to hack into my phone and steal all my data. He approached me in the lobby and said he needed help activating his apple Watch . In reality, he was trying to sync my phone with his watch so he could rob me of bank accounts, personal data, etc. I had to spend the next few days calling institutions and changing passwords. I was super disappointed in the experience and would never recommend this place to anyone I know

Located deep into the Masi Mara this camp is an excellent place to stay. Being far into the reserve gives you a great opportunity to see the animals around the reserve. The staff go incredibly far as an example using hot water bottles to warm the bed in the evening, as the luxury tents are exposed to whatever temperature it is outside. As the camp is by the river you always have the chance to see hippos in the water. The food is a great choice and delicious with lots of variety. Our three day we were mostly hosted via Kim-pye who is friendly, approachable and you can have a laugh with. As the luxury tents are posted around the camp internet is only avaliable at the main reception, bar and restaurant area.

My husband and I, and another couple went on safari for both our anniversaries. The Ashnil Mara camp was our second camp we stayed at. The location is perfect for game drives and is right on the Mara river. It's absolutely stunning! The tents are huge, but as they are canvas can be quite damp and dark as the lights are not very bright inside the tent itself. The bed is very comfortable and are protected with mosquito nets! The camp itself is very large. The main lodge has an open fire pit for the evenings and an open aired sitting area during the days. The food is incredible! Buffet style and a lot of variety. As the camp is on the river you have access to seeing hippopotamus daily, but you also have the privilege of being woken up by them as they are quite noisy. But it's a pretty cool alarm clock. The camp is solar powered which means access to power at all times and WiFi at the main lodge is pretty good. Everyone working at the lodge is very kind and helped make our safari very special.
