Akti Beach Club

We had a lovely week here at the beginning of October. We stayed in the adults only section with a shared pool. The room was quite small and dated and had a bit of a musty smell when we arrived like it had been shut up for some time. The shared pool area was a little bleak but it was nice to have a quiet space for sunbathing and a dip when we wanted it (although we didn’t get much sun there). We were very close to the inside bar and the adults only restaurant which we liked. The food was lovely and we really can’t complain about the quality, especially for all inclusive. We did find it quite strange that you have to book to eat in the main restaurant as if it’s a different hotel! The entertainment was very hit and miss throughout the week. The hotel is not near anything walking distance but the free bus in to Kardamena is a good way to get out and about, although we had trouble getting this as people just show up and push their way to the front. The drinks are all branded which is a nice perk in all inclusive hotels. The staff are very friendly and attentive in the adults only restaurant, this is not so much the case in the main reception. We had a lovely, relaxing week here and it looks as though it’s great for families, not sure we would revisit though. Overall, it’s a nice hotel, we have stayed in far better and we have stayed in far worse. And I always say, your worst day in Greece is better than a good day anywhere else!!

For a start no way is this a 5 star hotel, 3-4 at the most, it is the greek government making money from tourists. Hotel is positioned with stoney, some course sand, beach front, there are large stones to get over if you want to swim sea. Hotel dining is very good lots of choice for adults and children. Rooms are OK small and bathroom in urgent need of refurbishment. There are 2 swimming pools for families, one near restaurant which is quiet and the other is a short walk from reception where all the entertainment is managed throughout the day. Night time entertainment is poor Hotel staff provide all the entertainment which consists of disco, karaoke and a quiz, music is fast and loud for age group of 35yrs or under as long as you can jump around all night. We wouldn't come here again there's much cheaper places with more to offer.

5 stars fir the hotel. Zero stars fir Tui letting the sude down Cons Tui - Coach drops you off and that is it. When we asked about a welcome meeting or any communication about a rep etc they said that TUI NO LONGER DOES A WELCOME MEETING FOR LESS THAN 10 PEOPLE. Beware on how many of you get off the coach. Shame they don't mention this anywhere. Also reckon they had a technical glitch on the digital platform that meant we did not exist at the hotel. (Booked it 12 months ago) Well that was one of 4 stories they came out eith. Tried to book same hotel next year but looks like Tui pulling out as no dates came up which texplains a lot. Folders in reception are in German and Dutch only. Nothing in English. BEEN WITH TUI 45 YEARS - 120 HOLIDAYS. Will be cancelling the holidays still booked and moving to JET2 who seem to value their customers. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL WITH TUI IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY AND REDPECT. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND JET2. *Not 25 mins from airport. As per JET2 it is actually 45 mins. Pros Adults only area shared pool. Love everything about this area and the hotel All staff are very friendly and helpful Facilities are great Rooms are smallish but nice and fit fir purpose. Food is great in both buffets Beach is lovely but be careful going in the sea Plan to come back every year but obviously with JET2. WELL DONE AKTI BEACH CLUB!

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel very hit and miss with this hotel and probably more miss meaning we would not stay here again. For us the entertainment team made our stay bearable the effort and enthusiasm was amazing and they work so hard. Management actually need to provide them with some decent equipment. They have 2 darts and a dartboard hung on a tree. A very poor mini golf and a wonky bowling area. Food In the main restaurant the food is plentiful and varied albeit lukewarm the majority of time. The queue and wait for fried eggs in the first half of the holiday was ridiculous. Everything else was stone cold by the time the lady made them. On one occasion i asked for two eggs was given one then made to wait a further 5/6 minutes when there was ample room for her to put two on at the same time. Pool bar food was mass made and barely warm. Take your own large cups as you are only provided with paper ones. Evening Entertainment This was extremely poor for adults and teenagers however it is early inThe season so id hope it would improve. The barman at the entertainment bar was beyond miserable and everytime you asked for a drink you were made to feel like you were putting him out. Also the queue for the bar was absolutely ridiculous and they constantly run out of glasses meaning we had to drink out of paper cups. The Shop The shop onsite is extremely expensive go to the super market next door. Lifeguard at Entertainment pool My SS was messing around with his friend as kids do and we had already told him to stop and calm down. However he then jumped in the pool and narrowly missed landing on someone. To be fair to him he realised mid air and manoeuvred himself to prevent hitting him. He got out of the pool with his friend and the lifeguard blew his whistle at them and asked them ‘what the F**k are you doing and started asking for their names and room numbers. They shouldn’t have been messing about however the lifeguard should NOT have sworn at any child.

Room temp never went below 23 degrees even with air con on all night, add to the the hard pillows and bed and sleep wasn’t really an option. Very small dining area for such a large place, we were unable to find anywhere to sit for our evening meal, as all tables taken on many occasions It isn’t even full at the moment, cannot imagine it in high season. Had to request toilet paper as not filled, and cleaner stayed in room as we tried to change to get ready to go out for the day! Lots of brown mud patches on grounds. I really wanted to like it but it’s not a holiday if you can’t sleep and the staff are intimidating. Very small car park, unable to find spaces at times! Book elsewhere

Family holiday of myself, my wife, my daughter (2 years old) and in laws. The hotel really is so good. Rooms are well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have lots of options for all people and ages. My daughter enjoyed the kids club a few times a day (we did stay with her as we felt more comfortable), however when there is 2 people it’s run well, there is painting arts and crafts and a good playground to play in. We spent most of our time during the day at the animation pool, where the animation team kept people entertained and the pool and kids pools kept my daughter entertained. A huge shout out to Hedi from the team, he was a huge part of our holiday always taking time to speak to us and put a smile on our faces, my little one took a shining to him as he’s just brilliant at what he does, keeping people entertained and happy on their holiday, thanks Hedi!! The hotel offers a shuttle bus to and from the local town, Kardamaina. You can spend a while walking the backstreets looking at the shops, plenty of restaurants and places to get a drink too. You can also get a bus to and from Kos old town, which you get right in front of the hotel. A beautiful old town with a lovely harbour and some interesting ruins and the tree famous for Socrates. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples and families, we had such a good holiday and may even come back again it was that good!!
