Atlantica Thalassa Hotel

Hotel room was lovely comfy beds and soft pillows room service was amazing everything was cleaned and food here was expectional and staff here was very respectful and kind especially Maria she was fantastic always friendly at reception and overall would highly recommend anyone to come visit this hotel in Kos Greece and on checkout day you get your lunch and dinner included all for free.

Hotel: There is free wifi around the hotel which is great and works really well. We stayed for 11 nights, initially for the first half the hotel was pretty quiet but this got notably busier in the second half. We noticed a big difference when the hotel got busier. Some of the differences were to do with the hotel but also it seemed that some of it was rude guests. There appears to be a kids club but as we don’t have children I can’t comment on this. The animation team do a great job, they go round and talk to everyone and put on activities throughout the day. It’s clear they have a fairly low budget as evening entertainment was a band on twice, greek dancers and then other evenings were quizzes/karaoke/just music being played but this only lasted from 9.30-10.30pm or maybe 11pm. There is a board near the snack bar displaying a list of what is happening through the day. Food and drink: The buffet had a small selection, but it was always a good selection and we could always find something we liked. The food was well cooked and the snack bar served snacks from 12-5.30pm ish. I do have to say that we did find the quality of the food reduce throughout the holiday. The drinks choices were poor. They only have local spirits but not a big selection, so don’t expect a lot of choice. This really let the hotel down for us. Then, during the second half of the holiday they appeared to switch the spirits out for even cheaper ones. The amaretto I had been drinking changed to an undrinkable cheap drink that tasted nothing like Amaretto despite it coming from a bottle showing it was Amaretto. The vodka brand also appeared to change and became a strong cheap taste. Also, they do not do bottled water. There are water machines but you need to supply your own bottle. We ended up buying some from the shop in the hotel and then went to the supermarket in Kos town for some more, but this is the first AI hotel we have been to that doesn’t supply bottles of water. It was great that the pool bar does Ice cream throughout the day. Pool: There are 2 pools, one larger one with a smaller kids one next to it. The pool was pretty cold initially but did appear to warm a bit as the holiday went on. I would imagine in the height of summer it may get pleasant. We must have dropped lucky because no one reserved sun loungers and we could always get one throughout at any time of day. The main pool isn’t big enough for the amount of children on inflatables though. Location: The hotel is a bit out of the way, but we knew this on booking. There is a lovely section of beach infront of the hotel although no bar here and it us mainly shingle- the loungers here are €3 for the day but the beach never had anyone on it and no one to take payment. There is a bus outside the hotel drive which goes to Kos town or you can walk in about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. We had a lovely stay. The reception team were particularly fantastic! They were always happy to help and were very attentive. The room was very clean, and was cleaned daily. The salad bar was amazing. Very fresh and lots of variety. The desert and fruit selection was also great. As a vegetarian, there was not always as many options and could occasionally be difficult to put together a main dish. Everything was labelled with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free signs. The restaurant staff were also very attentive - very quick to clear away plates. There is a beach across the road with sunbeds, although, bear in mind that is more windy and so feels a bit colder than the pool side sunbed area within the hotel. Beach/pools towels are available from reception and can be changed daily. There was a daily activity schedule posted on the bulletin board which followed a similar structure of activites ach day. The animation/entertainment team were very enthusiastic and were more than happy to spend time chatting between activities. They make an effort to learn names and interact each day which was really nice, and even let us borrow Uno cards for the day. We particularly enjoyed the yoga/pilates/stretch sessions, and learning how to play Boccia. We did have some trouble with the air-conditioning which we raised with reception and maintenance came to check and try to fix it. It still didn't do a fantastic job at cooling the room, but we were able to leave the balcony door open to provide more air. Overall, we had a lovely time. It was a great location for a relaxing girl's holiday. Bear in mind, that the hotel is about a 45 minute walk from Kos town (there is a bus from outside the hotel!), and there are not many attractions close by. Bike hire is available from the hotel if you'd like to cycle around the area too. Special thank you to the Reception and Animation team from Emily & Mia.

Rooms are lovely, Plenty of choices for the food, could be a bit warmer at times. Pool bar food is excellent, the staff have all been attentive and professional. Kos town a 45 minute walk, 10 euros in a taxi. Enjoyed my stay so far still a few days left

Please ignore the negative reviews! This hotel is absolutely fantastic! Perfect for a young family or couples. Food and drinks are always spot on although a smaller selection than some hotels I have stayed at but always fresh and tasty. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous they have been refurbished and the beds are some of the most comfortable I have slept in I would definitely return and recommend this hotel. Thanks for an amazing week!

We stayed here in September 2 weeks of wall-to-wall sunshine. from morning till night was hot We had an apartment that looks over towards turkey, beautiful sea views, lovely mountain views, the beautiful sunset every day was amazing. Even though the hotel was starting to wind down for the season, James and Jess our animation team kept us entertained, Jess with her morning stretching & aquarobics every day, which I loved and James with his darts, volleyball amongst other things, Jess & James are both very engaging and kept all the guests entertained with karaoke and bingo they make a good team with endless energy. The bar staff was brilliant around the pool lifeguard was brilliant. The hotel was clean. We met so many fantastic guests at this hotel, while we was there for the two weeks it felt like we were just one big happy family enjoyed a two week holiday together. It was amazing thank all.
