Rio Hotel

The Rio Hotel, also known as the Pub, is a really excellent simple hotel. We stayed there last year and loved it, but since then a lot has been updated. The showers were great, good pressure and a proper shower cubicle. Loo paper can go down the toilet. Mattresses are deep and comfortable. The AC worked well and was quiet. The rooms are a decent size and are equipped with a kettle, and cooking facilities for those wanting to self cater. Only slight down was the small very public balcony. The hotel is family run, and not surprisingly this means excellent and friendly service. The Pub part is a bar and restaurant , and hotel guests get a discount. We breakfasted there each day, but ate other meals by the sea. The Pub does have big screens and Sky sports, but the sound on those is kept low. It is a five minute walk from the Rio to the harbour and the sandy beach, down an almost pedestrian only street lined with bars and shops. We have just moved to a very expensive hotel in Kos town, and think many of the Rio’s facilities were much better. Hopefully we will be returning to the Rio next year.

We had time on our hands waiting for a bus around an hour and so we were looking for somewhere to spend the time and spend a penny and where more convenient that in the Pub . It’s the pub and restaurant part of the Rio Hotel . We ordered two pints and sat in comfy chairs watching the motor racing in Germany. The young lady who served us was very pleasant and not pushy for us to order food which is really good. Whilst there we saw the pool table and had a wee game of pool to pass the time . Ordered two more drinks and wine this time ... unless a lover of Greek white wine best stick with beer . The ladies were clean and fresh and the place was so relaxing . Pool table, I think darts board and a football table . Tv to watch sport and in a great place to watch people go by. Thanks for a great end to a visit to kardemena . We missed the bus as so relaxing but got the taxi instead . It’s got the feel of a good old English pub as previous reviews with the Greek weather thrown in .

Absolutely first class! spotless, well run, great food, drinks and service. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding every three days, free safety deposit box in room, fridge freezer, Air con, plenty storage no complaints about anything. Everything anyone could want for the best holiday we will be going back to the same apartments next year thank you

Superbly located. Fantastic strong hot shower. Very clean. Vasillis was a marvellous host, very friendly and really helpful with information. Room was cleaned every day. It is situated above 'The Pub' that they also run which is a fab venue. Everyone so friendly and hospitable, a lovely team of people. There are mosquito screens outside your patio doors and these provide excellent sound proofing. Will definitely be back.

Amazing! Me ny partner and our little girl stayed last week and I couldn’t praise the place anymore than I already have. It’s so clean and the rooms are spacious. The location cannot be beaten and the staff are friendly and attentive in the hotel. Massive thank you for looking after us to Vasili and his family. We will be back. Riley, Chelsey and Lilah.
