The Samilton

We went to tour Kolkata and the Samilton is located in a great spot to see the city. The staff at the hotel checked with us daily to see if we needed anything additional. The owner periodically checked on us and even brought us some Chai and snacks when we were in the lobby. Restaurant staff were great and made us food off the menu. Rooms and prices were reasonable. The staff takes pride in their jobs and the guest experience.

Excellent service . Good room. Reception staff was cooperative and helpful in assistance Isha and Farheen. Room was cleaned regularly. Housekeeping was done properly. Beds and pillows were good. Pillow cover and bed sheets and blankets were neat and clean

We booked this hotel seeing its decent reviews and the location. We had booked 3 rooms for a week. For the price it charges, the experience was not up to the mark. Let me jot down the pros and cons: Pros - Location on SC Bose Road - The breakfast spread is quite delicious and the service there is amazing - The staff is quite polite and always ready to help However, the cons outweighs the pros - The rooms are quite small and absolutely not worth the price of more than 4.5k!! - We booked 3 rooms and all three of us were given 3 separate floors - The fan in my room creaked and made lot of sound - Unfortunately my room's window was the exit point for AC repair and I was disturbed multiple times by the staff to open the room so that they can open the window and do the repairs and fill the gas. I understand the issue, but thats not my problem. I booked a room for 6 days, you should have given a room which has not disturbance. - The in-room dining is exorbitantly priced !! Almost close to the rates of 5 star hotels. I seriously don't know why? - The reception sometimes can behave crazy. Two times in our one week stay they said (once for my colleague) and once for me (during last day checkout) that we have not given the card to them when we actually had. Its so not done. they charge Rs 500 for lost card, and thus should be very careful when you say to a customer that one hasnt given the card to them. Both the times after checking, they found that card was with them. - the entrance of the hotel is very small.Only one car can stand on the road at a time - the corridors are very narrow as well. It seems a big hotel from the pictures but it is not. - one of the days room wasn't cleaned and I had to ask for it. one of the days i saw my room open while I returned from work and saw 3 people inside two of them doing the AC work from the window and another sitting on the sofa seeing his mobile. - The sleep quality is not good at all, The mattress is dated and I almost ended up having a back pain. -The plug point in my room (403) was just on top of the bed and the pillow covered it. How dangerous is that?? All this left a very bad taste in terms of the price paid for the property.

The rooms are spacious and amenties are good . The staff is very co-operable espically Poulami , Farheen and Rimpi The food is very good . The cafes and bar are impressive with there services. They offer services like Spa , Room dining and many more

The samilton, It was Great experience to stay with this Hotel, when ever in future if I visit to Kolkata's I would like to visit the same hotel, The staff of the hotel was good & understanding, Even i like the food even clean & hygiene . Thank you !

Great location, fabulous staff. Too Very comfortable. Farheen, Isha and Rimpi at front desk were always smiling and willing to assist. The staff in Cloud Tavern and dining room were also fabulous! A smile goes a long way. Smiles go a long way
