When we arrived around 4pm, our room wasn't ready (check in is 3pm). The person at the front desk was a bit thrown off by this, and gave us a different room (room 400 to be exact). They didn't give us a rundown of the amenities or free breakfast or anything. We get into our room and it was nice and spacious. We look to the left and see both of the windows look dirty and streaky (definitely a failed seal in both of the dual pane windows). By the amount of damage, the seals failed a long time ago. Why they haven't been replaced, is beyond me! If the windows had been clear, we would've had a decent view of the mountains. We both started trying to connect our devices to the wifi, and couldn't. We tried restarting our devices and tried several more times. For a few minutes I managed to connect my tablet, and got kicked out again. Terrible wifi! We were both getting frustrated because we were trying to plan out our last evening in Eastern Tennessee. Cellphone service was spotty for us in this area of TN, so we were relying on wifi. The room was missing toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap), so we had to get some from the front desk. The staff never once greeted us or acknowledged us when we were coming and going. The nightstands were huge and clunky and we both hurt ourselves on the sharp corners getting in and out of bed. After a really busy, exhausting week, we just wanted to relax before the long drive home the next day. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we found it overpriced for a room with dodgy windows and no wifi. It was the most expensive Hampton Inn I’ve ever stayed in, and it’s definitely in need of some renovations and upgrades! Also, the staff could use some customer service training. So much for Hilton Honors perks!
