We’re a family of 3 ~ stayed at the Brunton Boatyard for 2 nights. The theme of the place is the Colonial era. The place is tastefully elegant and gives you that feel of Vintage Royalty. Fort Kochi has several buildings that go back 300 years. The rooms are spacious, neat and tidy ~ all in wood, old styled switches, fans, lampshades, doors, windows and bathroom fittings ….. everything vintage. The courtyard, the reception, the artifacts all transport you a 100 years back. The staff - professional, well trained, friendly yet not in-your-face. I loved the food served at breakfast and dinner. The mallu food tasted authentic. One bite and you know the quality of the chef. I loved the food and the culinary experience. I took a morning walk with the guide and I got a bit of history associated with the buildings, the streets and Loafer’s corner. During the day we took an auto ride to Jew town. The next day I spent the morning cycling around Fort Kochi. Had breakfast and left to the next CGH property - The Coconut lagoon, Kumaragom - Read my post to know more. While the property is fabulous, the surroundings are not so great - not that it diminishes or affects your experience. Overall - we left feeling Happy. Our experience of living the vintage lifestyle and experiencing a part of history will remain ever engrained in our memories. A must visit place. Stay for 2 days … not more.
