Aha the Rex Hotel

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and I can just imagine how lovely it would be in the summer time around the pool area. Restaurant put on a very good breakfast and added extra touches for heritage day. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Restaurant for dinner was a bit overpriced but it is well located and many other restaurants close by to choose from!

We arrived here as part of a group, on a tour, through the garden route. Lovely area but wasn’t a fan of the hotel. Rooms were tiny; we had gone out for the day and got soaked. They had no where to hang anything, just one rail for a towel. Also walls were paper thin, we were woken up by someone else’s alarm, in another room and then someone’s shower, it’s so loud, I thought it was the shower in our room. Then unfortunately we had a bad dinner too. There was only us another table in the restaurant so we should have known. It wasn’t up to standard at all.

We arrived were a little early no greeting from the gentleman on the reception I think he thought he was doing us a favour . A lady said our room would be 30minutes so we sat in the reception, we asked the gentleman about a toilet he directed us to one which was a public toilets . When our room was ready we were shown to it & just around the corner was the hotel bar & restaurant would of been a much better place to sit and have a beer & maybe some lunch if it had been pointed out to us . Hotel was ok people in the restaurant & bar were lovely rooms were clean we were only staying 2 nights if you were staying longer a balcony room would be

Absolutely stunning hotel and staff thank you to all for making a rememberable Christmas. Great food and excellent service. Rooms were clean staff went out of their way to assist.

Very nice clean and service friendly hotel only 5 minutes walk from Knysna marina. Close to all the restaurants and many attractions close to the hotel. Buffet breakfast is great. Great for business and leisure travel. Rooms are very clean with large king beds and a great walk-in shower. Downstairs, you have a Bistro that's serves not only breakfast but lunch and dinner too. Guarded parking in the hotel premises. And a pool too, although not heated, a great way to cool off after a hard day viewing the local sights or working.

My stay was presidential and even beyond that. I would like to applaude the hotel staff from the receptionists, security personnel, restaurant staff and cleaning staff for their exceptional hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Definitely would be back.
