Amazing stay in Protea Knysna. Very good location on the waterfront. Easy access to food and the waterfront shops! Very safe and hotel is clean and good! Would recommend

Nice hotel to stay in if you want to be near the waterfront or the bus station. I had to check out very early in the morning and the hotel prepared a breakfast bag for me which I really appreciated. The room I checked into was very basic, no slippers or robe for the guests either which was a bit of a let down. The bathroom water was not hot, this was another let down considering that it was a cold winter day. Overall an average experience.

Celebrated my mom’s birthday. We enjoyed our stay, loved the pool and our room was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast is great, wish it had pancakes or waffles for vegetarians. The hotel is located at the heart of Knysna- short stroll to the waterfront, plenty of restaurants& activities. Parking is available on site for ZAR30 p/ night and tourism levy is ZAR30 p/ night. Our check in was 30 minutes late, (14:30) bit disappointed, but we understand it was peak period. Otherwise highly recommend and will definitely return!

A modern hotel situated right on the waterfront in Knysna with great views of the marina and the bay. Our room was spacious and clean and in full working order. Staff are really friendly and helpful Breakfast is good. Note that the hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch / dinner. But it is right on the waterfromt development that has some grat restaurants less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

The view from the room is stunning. Looking across the water. Room good size with two beds..usual kettle,safe,fridge. The doors need new slow springs as groups left early and banged the doors which echoed through the corridor. Breakfast was chaos first morning…only one on egg station and was really slow. Waited long time for tea to come. The pool area is small so not enough loungers for guests. Suggest adding more On the grass. Staff were polite and friendly.

The only thing in this hotel that is up to the Marriott standards is the bed. The breakfast restaurant has the charme of a canteen and staff are extremly slow to replenish the breakfast buffet (which itself is nothing special). The hallway smells of kitchen when it is in operation and that smell unfortunately finds its way into the room. The bathroom looks nice but at a closer look the piping is rusty, tissue dispenser broken, etc. Whilst the location is very special, I cannot recommend this hotel even if ti were less expensive.

Busy but nice hotel just yards from the busy Quay area filled with restaurants/bars and shops . Lots of things to do in the area . Breakfast was a self service which was excellent . Nice bar area to sit and chill . Staff were all lovely . Room was big and comfortable.

My stay at this property was comfortable. I had read reviews before choosing this hotel and was unsure about how my experience would be. I am happy to say that I do recommend this property for a couple of nights of stay. I did not run into any of the issues that some other traveler's have mentioned. Yes, there was initially no hot water in my bathroom, however, it was immediately fixed once I reported it. The executives at the front desk are cheerful :). The have a decent spread of options for breakfast. The best part of staying here is that the property is bang on Knysna Waterfront. So you have a lot of dining options all around.
