Amanzi Island Boutique Hotel

From before we even arrived Miriam and the team here helped us organise spa treatments and dinner for our anniversary. Once at the lodge Promise and Ashley couldn’t have done more for us…drinks by the pool, lovely breakfast, lunch and dinner, generous sized suites, bikes for exploring and a shuttle service to take you wherever you want to go. Fantastic hotel in a great spot and very good value. Highly recommended and thank you

Another wonderful stay, thank you. Great location, 10 minutes drive to Knysna shops and waterfront. Rooms are airy and bright, very comfortable, nice garden, bicycles and kayaks available. Really friendly and welcoming staff, nothing is too much trouble.

Thank you for a great stay at Amanzi! We felt welcome right away. The service was excellent, and our game drive with ranger Koos was very informative. The food was delicious, with every meal being a highlight. We will definitely be back soon!

This boutique hotel is absolutely gorgeous - it looks actually like the villas in the Taschen coffee table books and has a stunning architecture and a wonderful interior design, with impressive panoramic views, a sunny pool and the most beautiful lounges and living areas. The staff is adorable and Miriam has a great sense of hospitality and will always do her best to make you feel welcome and valued, she is the perfect host and has been extremely welcoming - a real gem. The location is magnificent, in an exclusive island very close to Knysna's waterfront. The shuttle service is always available and you can get even complimentary bikes to explore the region on your own. Breakfast is included in the rate and is served by a very friendly waiter on one of the many sunny terraces, overlooking the sea. Freshly baked butter croissants and some Florentine eggs have been an enjoyable start into the day. In the evening you can admire the sunset from their lounge with a drink, the sea views by the end of the day had amazing colours! And Ashley has been super attentive. It seems that the property is popular by regular clients from Europe returning every winter, for me it was the first time here. If you like beautiful hotels, it's a little jewel. A place to return and a place to remember.

Perfect place that we spotted a year ago ago. We especially came back to Leisure island to stay at Amanzi and did enjoy it enormously.

A beautifully decorated hotel with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The views over the estuary towards the heads is stunning we sat on the patio and took in those views. Some reviews here (not good reviews) seem to be for a different Amanzi Hotel as this one does not have game or game drives abs is immaculate in rooms and all areas. Leisure Isle where the hotel is based is on a beautiful island in Knysna where you can walk anywhere and take in the amazing views, swim or kayak in the estuary or go out on a boat trip. We only stayed for one night but wish we had stayed longer.
