Hotel Peli

What a little gem this hotel turned out to be, not found in your main stream holiday brochures this 2 star hotel gets 5 stars from us for hospitality, friendliness, and cleanliness. The breakfast served daily we could not fault with a wide choice of dishes to choose from. Our room was on the ground floor with a terrace and was more than adequate for us, it was kept spotlessly clean and they even provided towels for the pool area. The pool area is spacious and well presented with a bar/snack bar open from 12pm until 9pm and a pool that was kept spotlessly clean. The hotel is just a short walk from the beach and several restaurants whilst a further walk of 10 minutes will get you to the town center or the sea front promenade with a further selection of bars and restaurants. All in all what a find this hotel was for us and we would highly recommend the Peli Hotel to anyone stopping in Kissamos.

A warm welcome awaits! We have visited this small hotel (28 rooms) about 15 times as a couple, with family, or on yoga holidays. It is perfect for families or anyone who wants charming, clean, friendly accommodation. About 80 metres from the sandy beach and cafes it is a ten minute walk from the centre of town. The owner, Peli, could not be more helpful and friendly. She will willingly advise on walks, tours, eating etc and then organise them for you! The rooms are comfortable, clean, air conditioned, quiet and with balconies and modern showers. They also have TVs, kettles, hair driers and fridges. Breakfast is made by Peli and her “ Mama” and comprises a huge table of fresh local fruits, breads, cereals, yogurt, pastries and a simple cooked dish. Serve yourself as much and as often as you wish. Coffee, tea and fresh orange juice are included. While there is no evening meal, a great range of tavernas and restaurants are very close at hand. Excellent light lunches/ snacks are available at the pool bar during the day. The pool is enormous, clean and surrounded by lawns and comfortable sun beds. The shallow end isn’t too deep for children and there is a safe toddler pool attached. For us it is perfection!

This hotel was way above my expectations. A long way from those characterless high-rise hotels but with seemingly no limit on the facilities, including TV, air con and free Wi-Fi. Beach towels provided. I stayed for a week and almost immediately felt as if I was being treated as a close friend - not intrusively but just with the trouble taken for the individual by Peli herself and by her family I think there were 8 different choices of jam for the buffet breakfast - in a shaded outside area decorated with bougainvillea plants. As others have said, my room and bathroom were totally clean, I had an individual small balcony - with view of the sea, just one block away. The town was within walking distance and good restaurants for dinner were within 5 minutes’ walk. A brilliant, unexpectedly large pool, with its own drinks and snacks bar, so no need to interrupt the sunbathing. Thank you, Peli.

We stayed Hotel Peli one week. During the hole week, the receptionist dog was barking outside the hotel (the house was like 5m from hotel). It begin 08 every morning and it continued during the day. Once the lady took the dog inside hotel so the barking was still going on. Nothing helped. It was SUPERRRRR annoying and nobody shouldnt pay hotel ”servise” like this. I didnt came here to listen every day dogs barking! Very selfish way for receptionist, if the dog has a problem, dont make it a hotel customers nerves!!!! Very mad about this! And very sad for this ”holiday”.

Abbiamo soggiornato all’hotel Peli dal 13 al 20 Luglio, e ci siamo trovati da Dio! Peli e suo fratello sono due persone fantastiche, sempre pronte ad un consiglio e sempre presenti in hotel per qualsiasi necessità. L’hotel è molto bello (merita 4 stelle): pulito, camere piccole ma con ogni confort: condizionatore, zanzariere, frigo bar con acqua già presente e gratuita, phone, bagno senza finestre ma c’è tutto ciò che serve. Pulizia ottima: ogni due giorni veniva pulita la stanza, con cambio biancheria (in dotazione anche teli mare). La colazione fantastica: dia dolce che salata, con alimenti freschi e cambiava ogni giorno in quanto preparata da Peli e dalla madre (spremuta d’arancia preparata al momento), le marmellate homemade favolose! Per non parlare della piscina, sempre pulita e calda, con angolo bar dove godersi cocktails, gelati e frappe. Di fronte all’hotel c’è un market fornitissimo, molti ristoranti e parcheggio. Insomma una vacanza memorabile grazie anche a questo hotel a due passi (150 metri) dalla spiaggia di Mavros Molos e dal centro di Kissamos. Consigliatissimo, noi ci ritorneremo!

Famiglia accogliente, camere pulite , colazione buona, piscina bellissima, decisamente superiore alle 2 stelle che sono attribuite. Giudizio eccellente Il mare è vicinissimo e il valore aggiunto è la bus station accanto che permette tour in tutta Creta con prezzi modico ed orari confortevoli.
