To call this a B&B doesn't do justice to the delightful property filled with fascinating antiques and pictures, and including the remains of the waterwheel in the breakfast room. Bedrooms are comfortable and there's a guests' sitting room full of books to browse through too. Karen, the owner, is very welcoming and provides a good, varied breakfast with plenty of decent coffee. Highly recommended. Kirkby Moorside and the surrounding area are full of opportunities for walking and sight-seeing.

lovely two night stay, great hosts, lovely check in and check out , superb room , room 1, all you could need apart from a working TV remote, a minor point and mentioned at checkout Breakfast is to order, and fresh, so expect a few minutes wait if the breakfast room is busy, but a splendid selection and a hearty cooked to set you up for the day Town centre is 10/15 minutes walk away, but check closing times of the few eateries, it will be quite early

Amazing hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Super accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing. Fabulous freshly cooked breakfast. We could not fault anything and will be back for a longer stay. Highly recommended.

What a gem!! We have stayed at quite a few guest houses and small hotels during our travels around the UK, but The Cornmill has to be up there with the best. Karen gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, and our room (Room 4) was warm and welcoming with the sun streaming through the windows. Tea and coffee served in the guest lounge was a real treat. Breakfast was freshly prepared and really tasty. The ambience in the dining room with the mill race running under the floor and visible through the glass panels was a great touch. Overall a great stay, and we will be back when possible.

We have had a wonderful few days in the self catering Stable 1 Everything you could wish for was available microwave, cooker, kettle tv comfy bed and furniture The bedding and towels were great quality. Karen met us on arrival and made us feel really welcome We will certainly return in the future and of course let all our friends and family know what a lovely place it is and so accessible for Whitby Pickering Thirsk etc etc Highly recommended

Such a beautiful place captured us from moment we pull onto the driveway the hosts were so friendly and welcoming the room was cosy warm and so comfortable such a great nights sleep and breakfast was delicious, cannot say enough about can’t wait to return very soon.

We stayeds for three nights in November 24 and found it to be a lovely place to stay and would stay again without hesitation. Our room was large, comfortable with lovely decor and furnishing. There is a guest lounge and private entrance to the rooms. The choice at breakfast was broad and everything was beautifully cooked and presented in a dining room which sparkled. Our car nav took us to the wrong side of the main road but Kirby Mills is a tiny hamlet on the edge of Kirbymoorside so if you don't see the sign, try across the road, the entrance is well signed and only 40 yards off the main road. The centre of Kirbymoorside is a 12 minute walk away and has a wide choice of pubs and foody places Highly recommended.

Excellent stay, room very comfortable and tea in the lounge on arrival was a lovely surprise. The breakfast was great and the owner Karen was very hospitable. High level of attention to detail and the fine bone china a classy touch. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

We have stayed at the Cornmill for over 15 years - highly recommended. Quality of guest rooms and breakfast excellent. Always a warm welcome from Karen and Chris. Situated in a peaceful location and a short stroll to pubs, shops, eateries etc. We will be back.
