Absolutely lovely stay here on Saturday night Great location Room and bed were lovely and comfortable. Loved the view from the bathroom , and the little window ledges (book nooks) were so cute. Had a few drinks at the bar and all the staff were lovely. We took advantage of happy hour cocktails from 3-7 pm too! The parking permit included in the stay was a lifesaver too! Breakfast was delicious! We will definately be returning for our next visit to Kirkby Lonsdale.

Plato’s provided the perfect place to stay when attending a friend’s wedding in late June. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, lovely comfortable and attractive room, complete with wooden beams, and cosy bar and restaurant at the foot of the stairs. We dined in on the non wedding night and enjoyed the atmosphere created by an excellent live singer. Duck and steak were cooked to our requirements and followed tasty scotch egg and mushroom starters. Breakfast was available until 10 each morning which made for a relaxing get up and we had the tasty granola, fruit compote and yoghurt opener as cooked breakfasts of full English and eggs Benedict were prepared. A large and tasty pot of coffee was a great accompaniment. In small towns like Kirkby Lonsdale parking can be tricky but a laminated pass sorted out free parking a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of tea and coffee choices in the bedroom and lovely big bath towels. Bath and shower options and shower powerful and easily controlled. We left delighted with our choice and would happily go back in the future.

We stayed for 2 nights B&B. The room was small but had everything we needed. It was on the second floor with no lift but the staff helped us carry our cases. Breakfast was superb - beautiful fruit and yoghurt muesli to start and an extensive menu of cooked options all freshly cooked. There is no parking on site but a permit is given for a car park a few minutes walk away.

I organised a celebration lunch here for 18 people and we had a wonderful afternoon. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and well-presented, and the cocktails were fab! When the team needed to rearrange the dining area for the evening service, they kindly set up tables for us in the cosy wine cellar so we could continue our festivities without having to move on and try to find somewhere else that could accommodate us all. Highly recommended.

Luxury B&B with a fabulous restaurant. Staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent great produce used. Bar is lively and lovely outdoor seating area. No noise from bar heard in room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Jan 2024 visit not June (our second). I'm late writing my review Arrival and check-in were very smooth; the staff accommodated us well, taking our cases upstairs and switching rooms when they noticed my mother-in-law struggled with the stairs. The room was bijou (standard room) but beautiful. The quality of the bed sheets, duvet, and pillows was exquisite. This was a winter break, and we enjoyed sitting in comfortable armchairs in front of the wood-burning stove. Later, we wandered to the high street to shop and returned to fantastic food, lovely wine, and excellent service. Not our first visit, and it won't be our last. 3 nights / 4 days of great hospitality, thank you Disliked nothing.
