Killarney Royal Hotel

From the start Brian and Helena welcomed us with warm smiles and the hotel owner’s family tradition of sharing in some whiskey. They made sure every detail of our stay was perfect with lots of great tips of places to see. We loved staying here!

Absolutely delightful stay at this quaint boutique hotel in the heart of Killarney. Very much appreciated the hospitality of the front desk staff. Lovely room. Great location. Delicious breakfast not to be missed. Only suggestion is for the bartender on duty the evening we dined at the hotel...clearly a novice in need of a bit of practice. Unfamiliar with how to make an Aperol Spritz. But what was lacked in experience was made up for in kindness and effort. A very kind gent!

This hotel exudes class from the very moment you enter. It has charming features throughout. The rooms are spacious, well fitted-out and maintained, and spotlessly clean. Guests are treated royally and attentively by the excellent service delivery team from the very moment they enter, until they leave. It is situated near the heart of the town and about 2 minutes walk from the railway station. Note that guests will pass the Great Southern Hotel on their way from the railway station to the hotel ; they have complimentary access to its leisure facilities - another reason for choosing the Killarney Royal. The food and drinks offerings are varied, well priced, well presented, copious and, most especially, delicious. What more could the discerning guest want?

staff very friendly and helpful. Most generous offerings of food and an unreal variety of food at breakfast. The entire premises was very clean and is a central location in the town. We would have no hestition in recommending this hotel for short or long stay.

Killarney is such a beautiful town and the Royal hotel is a great base to explore the town and the Ring from. Our room was spacious and quiet, all be it a little outdated, and the bed was super comfortable and luxurious. The bathroom was a great size and the shower had good pressure, but at times there appeared to be a smell coming up the drain, but manageable. Sadly when we arrived there were dirty bedsheets left in the room, and the Iron was on and extremely hot, but again we were able to sort this, but perhaps something for management to note. I can’t say enough about the staff, they were so polite and helpful, the turn down service and the pool and spa at the sister hotel ‘the great southern’ were added treats to our stay. And the Christmas decor was gorgeous. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts each morning, but wouldn't recommend the porridge as it was made with just water and came with no fruit/sryup. Overall, this is a very nice hotel and we had a great time but there were just some things that could be improved.

Lovely comfortable hotel with lots of character and old worldly feel about it. The staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was impressive. Situated in the heart of the town so ticked all the boxes for evenings out and exploring the county.
