Corfu Aquamarine Hotel

We don’t have high standards when it comes to hotels. We primarily come for the area, not the hotel or its facilities. But this hotel really pushed our limits... 1. The breakfast is bad. Mushy and tasteless. After a couple of days, we were eating it reluctantly. Every day it's the same food, and some days it looks like it's the leftovers from the day before... which already looked like the leftover from the day before that. 2. The room is not cleaned properly. We slept on the same sheets for 6 days (no problem in general, but for a '4-star' hotel, it's a bad thing). After day 4, we asked at reception when they would be changed, and they said 'tomorrow'. The day after that, they said it again... Room cleaning removed our hand soap one day, and when we went to reception to ask for a new one, they didn’t understand what 'hand soap' was and offered us 4 shower gels to wash our hands with. After doing that for a couple of days, and not getting a new one with room cleaning, we had to go to the reception again, finally getting a regular bar of hand soap. After 4 days, we finally got new towels, but the old ones were not removed, even the ones already on the floor. Eventually, one towel on the floor started turning a bit brown because of the dirt (and maybe the leaking toilet, because yeah, that was also the case) and they would not take it when cleaning the room. 3. The overall state of the hotel, both inside the room and the entire terrain, is not good. It looks old and used. The inside of the room has mold marks, the 'rain' part of the shower doesn’t seem to work, there were water leaks due to the rainfall, we didn’t have warm water a couple of evenings, etc.... It’s not all bad, though: The location of the hotel is good for sightseeing on the island, with lots of interesting things to do within an acceptable distance. The view from the hotel is great. And, the hotel really has good potential. If it’s cleaner and better maintained, and the overall service is a bit better, it could really be a great location to stay. Summarized: Don’t be fooled by the '4-star' rating. It’s maybe 2 by the looks of it.

the hotel has a rating of 4* what is not for 4* the bathroom is a disaster. The toilet bowl looks like it hasn't been washed in 4 years, and there are cobwebs in the bathroom that no one has removed for 7 days. the view was of the road itself, not of the sea as stated. The staff is not happy and satisfied. Basically, we have no desire to go there again

Rundown , in desperate need of a refurbishment. Unclean. Staff unhappy and unapproachable , unable to acknowledge guests. Bar left unattended , we walked to the shop it was quicker ! No branded drinks, No entertainment , no information about amenities , day trips etc. Gaps under door that allow bugs in , both got bit badly. Nearest pharmacy Ipsos. Close to a very small beautiful beach and a handful of restaurants. Bus available , not very reliable. Taxis expensive. Access to free safe ! However takes them a full day to open it. Never again. !
