Corfu SunGate Hotel

We had a fantastic stay at the Sungate Hotel in Sidari, Corfu. From the moment we arrived late at night, the friendly reception team looked after us with a welcome buffet of sandwiches, which set the tone for the whole holiday. Our room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with two separate rooms, excellent air conditioning at no extra charge and even a free safe. The staff throughout were extremely friendly and polite, always making us feel welcome. The pool was a real highlight — around 3m deep at the deep end, great for swimming and jumping in, and the kids loved it. There are plenty of sunbeds, so no rushing in the mornings, though it’s worth noting there’s no lifeguard. Food was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes each day and a snack bar serving chips, hot dogs, kebabs, and nuggets during the day. Evening entertainment every other night included dancers, singers, and Greek shows — fun and lively. The location is perfect: just a two-minute walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, and clubs, plus a beautiful little cove with two small islands you can swim to on calm days. Overall, Sungate Hotel combines great hospitality, food, entertainment, and a brilliant location — ideal for families or couples. We’d happily return!

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the manager who was only interested in getting €100 each couple,(thinking that we would have to pay €50) at seems that the tour operator gifted them with 3 stars and they gifted there selves with 4 stars ( making it more expensive,but the next price up was €70). Food.They seemed more compatible with the Eastern Europeans than the British (who seemed to make up 30%ish of the holiday makers). Bar.Couldn’t fault the bartender (Philipe) made you feel welcome always happy with a smile on his face,but only 1 choice of beer and 5 cocktails with a Bailey’s costing €8 and the weakest of the spirits available. Room.Although we had a great room my sister and her husband had a very different room that seemed to be needing a renovation,they also had to share a balcony,we only had a handful of coat hangers and no drawers for underwear or the likes, Pool.The first day we were there the .pool was reasonably clear but after that the pump had to be changed and for a week the pool wasn’t the clearest,although when we were leaving it was looking better Location.Very basic with hardly any paved walkway,although some very nice beaches and coves within a short walk.

The sungate hotel was welcoming on arrival, it was late and reception showed us to our room and offered a plate of food and a drink. This was nice as transfer is quite long from the airport. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and aircon was lovely. Shower was powerful and plenty of fresh towels. Rooms were cleaned and tidied daily. The restaurant was also spotless and food was always fresh. We ate out a couple of times but other than that the food was good and varied. Salads were delicious. Breakfast was really good. The pool area is very clean as are the toilets and getting Sunbeds wasn’t an issue. Drinks are fine and small selection of cocktails. Staff are really friendly and helpful. There is limited entertainment in the evenings but you can go out and find some if that’s what you like. A great holiday thank you Sungate.

Sun Gate Hotel – a true hidden gem! Sun Gate Hotel is one of those places that steal your heart from the very beginning. Cozy, intimate, and filled with a warm, welcoming atmosphere – it's the perfect getaway for anyone who values peace, authenticity, and genuine hospitality. It’s definitely an underrated hotel that deserves much more recognition. The hotel is also perfectly located – just steps away from Canal D'Amour, one of the most romantic and iconic spots in all of Corfu. A walk there at sunset is simply magical... Love it! But what truly makes this place special are the people. The Staff are not only professional, but above all, genuinely kind and caring – they truly want every guest to feel special. Right from the entrance, you're welcomed by the amazing front desk team: Amelia, always smiling, warm-hearted, and ready to help, and Daniel, incredibly helpful and full of positive energy. The food is absolutely outstanding! The Chef creates real culinary masterpieces – fresh ingredients, local flavors, and perfectly balanced spices. Every meal is a delicious experience you won’t forget. The entire dining experience is overseen by the restaurant manager Aristotelis, who ensures everything runs smoothly with passion and professionalism. Evenings are best spent at the bar with the fantastic bartender Filippos, who crafts delicious drinks with great humor and charm – making every night memorable. Thank you, Filippos, for the great conversations – they truly made my stay even more special! And of course – Aristotelis! Officially the restaurant manager, but clearly someone who was born to be behind the bar. He should be a bartender – because he truly loves it! His passion, energy, and ability to connect with guests make him unforgettable. People like him are rare. I love him! In short: Sun Gate Hotel is not just a place – it’s an experience. Intimate atmosphere, delicious food, amazing service, and most importantly, incredible people who create something truly special with heart and soul. It’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again – and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. And I will be back, definitely!

Delicious food, nice experience in our holidays! You should visit it! Don’t forget to meet chef and ask him about the variety of the menu!

Our stay was great we had relaxing time in the pool the food was pretty good with different choices for everybody and the buffet was clean. About the room it was really clean and I liked the fact that the stuff was also really friendly.Overall no problems.
