Local Hostel & Suites

My stay at Local was great! It was right on the bus line that goes into old town (which take card payment on board!). The beds were comfortable, and it was quiet (which is exactly what I needed/wanted.) The staff were really friendly, and you get a towel and a bottle of water included. There is a coffee shop right beside the hostel, which was really nice way to start the morning. I would recommend Local as a place to stay for anyone visiting Corfu who wants to chill.

Clean, moder! The reception people are perfect : very kind, they give good advice to visit Corfou ! The hostel is near a bus stop, it's very practical ! The thursday you can see a film outside of the hostel in a big screen in the little garden ! Thank you !

WORST HOSTEL I EVER BEEN! The staff is unpleasant and aggressive, allows themselves to add charges for rules not specified on the establishment page, although the rooms seem new the sheets are damp, the rooms smell bad because of the pipes, sound and light insulation is poor, it’s impossible to sleep well and it is located very far from the center in an area where one doesn't feel safe connected to the city center by a bus which runs little and only until 11 p.m. My biggest disappointment! SCAM

It was a nice over all experience. Close to the city, just 10 minutes away with a public buss(buss station within walking distance). Very clean establishment and friendly staff. Would visit again!

I wanted to give this accommodation a higher star rating however it needs some improvement. I stayed here for a few nights while in Corfu. It's location is good, on the outskirts of the city and you can get a bus to the city from close to the hostel. The hostel itself was very nice- new, fresh and modern and the staff were very nice. The bathroom facilities were excellent and there was lots of space in our dorm! However it was not clean! There was leftover rubbish and food in our dorm from previous people because there was no bin in our dorm to actually put the rubbish into! We asked for one at reception. They gave a bag which was then removed the following day but no physical bin was put in the dorm. The kitchen was also very dirty. It looked like nobody was cleaning it. I know in a hostel its common etiquette to tidy after yourself however sadly some people don't do this. The fridge was packed to the point where you couldn't put anymore food in and people had not removed old food. This is essential in a hostel. Somebody needs to check the kitchen, make sure its clean and to sort the fridge out. A second fridge is definitely required as there's plenty of space for one! Approaching the hostel at night time is very dark. It's down a dark road/lane that could really use a light. Yes when you reach the hostel an automatic light goes on however it needs more light on approaching the hostel to feel safer. Maybe the hostel could do something about this? I would stay again as it was a really nice hostel to be fair and hopefully give a higher rating if improvements had been made.

Horrible water pipes. We didnt have any water for the whole morning and the following morning too. the toilet had an unpleasant smell coming out of the pipes. the staff was okay but not the most approchable.
