Sibuya Game Reserve and Lodge

The most magical trip of a lifetime witnessing nature at its most finest. We stayed at Bush Lodge, and were treated like royalty by the small, personal, friendly team, who really couldn’t do more to make our holiday absolute perfection…and it was! Have to commend our ranger, Calem, who knew every species of bird (there’s 800), by sight and song, every species of plant and animal, or really is mind blowing. We are coming home with a camera roll jam packed with photos, and hearts full of memories that’ll last a lifetime, I absolutely can’t recommend Sibuya enough!

I travelled to Sibuya solo and participated in their volunteer program and I can fully recommend it to everyone who is interested in learning about nature and animals, in having open discussion around various topics and broadening the horizon. Sibuya has a variety of wildlife in their game reserve and every day of the volunteer program was completely different. My personal highlight was definitely the Elephant monitoring and learning more about those amazing animals. I stayed there for 3 weeks and my friends and family were really impressed by how much I learned during this short period of time (and so am I). I could have definitely stayed for more weeks also due to the very positive atmosphere at the Intaka lodge with other volunteers, students and of course the full team there! I can highly recommend Sibuya to everybody who is interested in a real wildlife experience which is respecting animals and nature!

Our stay at the Sibuya River Camp was amazing. With Mashudu we had a wonderful guide, who has so much knowledge about the Reserve and its inhabitants. We saw a lot of animals, including 4 of the Big 5, and learned a lot of facts about birds too! We highly recommend staying here and would love to come back!

This place is perfection. The staff are absolutely fantastic and do everything they can to help. In particular our guide Calam and hospitality host Tyla were beyond incredible! The game reserve is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see so many amazing animals. If you are looking for somewhere to safari - this is the place. 10/10.
