Significant issues in a lodge last weekend and frankly, staff couldn't have cared less. 8 people in a lodge and within 24 hours of arrival, we lost the use of two of the three bathrooms. Shower upstairs leaking and water pouring through the electric light fittings in the bathroom underneath. Reported concerns to reception and the response was underwhelming. Maintenence resealed the shower drain which did absolutely nothing. Reported a second time, showing video footage of the water pouring through the electrics. We were met with 'thanks for letting us know, sorry about that.' Guests were at risk of electric shock or the lodge going on fire and no responsibility was taken. No alternative accommodation was offered, nor were any measures taken to ensure the safety of the lodge or its occupants. It is clear to see from the ceiling plasterboard that this is not the first time this problem has presented itself. Lodges don't have fire extinguishers, fire blankets or details of assembly points. Rotting balcony at the rear of the property can no longer be used as a fire escape route as the railing has been removed and a gate has been put across the window. Investment and maintenence is seriously lacking. Sadly Mains of Taymouth have ignored my formal compliant and think a refund of £157 is sufficient compensation. We are returning to beautiful Kenmore again but won't be back to Mains of Taymouth.
