Rosyth Estate House

This place is an absolute Gem - it is just as beautiful as the pictures you see but not only that the staff are fantastic - it was like staying with a lovely family! For context, I went with my mum (nearly 80). From a cheerful, smiley greeting to a free welcome foot massage, to wonderful freshly made cake and tea on the veranda, to the most delicious dinner from Dinesh and Charmara, in just the first few hours! The room was immaculate and beautiful, we had the Pepper suite and I highly recommend it , spacious, some private outside space , an outside bath and beautiful views. The next day we did the cookery course which was just so much fun and in the evening we ate what we made plus more! I had a massage from the resident specialist which was excellent , we did tea tasting at the factory which was very educational and a tea plantation tour at the end to look at the surrounding nature, again we learnt lots. A farewell party greeted us the next day and we were incredibly sad to go. I will certainly come back again with my husband. We spent two nights there but could have happily done three and spread the activities out to make more time for the pool and some R&R. The pool is small if you have children but it's a lovely setting and there's room for fun. More than enough choice on the menu to accommodate all tastes including children. The most amazing, calm and peaceful retreat, this boutique hotel is set in a stunning location and with the most attentive staff, it was a pleasure to stay at The Rosyth and we’ll definitely be back. From the food to the rooms you really can’t fault a thing, they go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a special stay with them.

Fantastic tranquil retreat about and hour and a half outside of Kandy. Set in gorgeous rolling hillside it really is a fantastic place to stay. The food was really lovely and the staff were amazing. Thank you for the foot massage on arrival and the really interesting guided walk. A peaceful place to recharge.

Beautiful setting; delicious food; great service; and a wonderfully warm welcome from hosts Farzana and Neil. The view every morning from our bedroom across the gardens to the mist-drenched hills in the distance was joyful.The perfect start to our Sri Lankan adventure.

Rosyth is an absolutely wonderful place to spend a few nights with the family. Neil and Farzana welcomed us like long-lost friends and we felt at home straight away. The tour of the estate, learning about rubber tapping and seeing birds and spices growing was a fantastic experience for the kids. The small tea factory is also a great activity. The whole team provided top notch service and care. Would be delighted to return.

This place if nothing short of exemplary. Oozing luxury from the moment you’re greeted with a foot massage and a refreshing iced tea made from the tea that’s grown and harvested on the land. The room (cinnamon)- stunning. Huge comfortable bed, great shower, tastefully decorated- everything you need for a comfortable stay. The food- a seamless marriage between rustic Sri-lankan cooking and fine dining. Starters and desserts are sandwiched either side of a great selection of small Sri- lankan style dishes that are changed each night. Nice wine list and cocktails also. Breakfast was a delight- a choice between Sri Lankan or English, either served after a tasty selection of local fruit and a sweet yoghurt treat, alongside tea from the estate. The service- staff couldn’t do enough for you, polite and efficient at every encounter. There are some really special members of staff here, you can tell they love their job and believe in the dna of Rosyth. The owner are the perfect hosts too, on hand to advise on further travels and fill you in on the history of the place. Would we return? Absolutely. I don’t think I could return to this country without giving this place a few nights of my time. Thanks again.
