Mythos Palace Resort & Spa

We (a family of 4) have just returned home from 14 nights at Mythos Palace, I cried when we left. Book this hotel, you won’t be disappointed. We stayed in a sea view room, which was lovely, although lacking in a bit of storage space for a family of 4. I was envious of the swim up rooms, so if you can book one of those, do! All the staff were friendly and attentive and we were made to feel very welcome, even though we were in the minority, being from the UK. Bar table service could sometimes be a bit slow on busy nights, but it was very easy to rise from your comfortable chair and take yourself to the bar where service was always swift. Try the honey raki. The ladies who run the pool bar are fantastic, very friendly and efficient and they make the best aperol spritz. The food in all the restaurants was delicious, fresh and varied, and I wasn’t bored of it after 2 weeks. The evening entertainment was always fun. Early risers will always prosper for space by the pool, however there was often still a few places at 10am. The beach is beautiful, clean and the water clear, we used Leo’s water sports for parasailing (turn left and walk for 30mins along the beach) We visited Kournas Lake, which was beautiful, take your swimming stuff and make a day of it. A 4 seater pedalo was, a very reasonable, 15 euros for an hour. We took the road train there for 28 euros, and got a cab home for 8 euros. We ate out at Pelagias Taverna on one night, which was delicious, and only a 15min walk (near the supermarket) The only let down for us was the kids club, my children are 10 and 13, and the club caters for much younger children.

2 weeks in August for a family of 3. Paid over 6k (the most we have ever paid for a holiday) for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. More like a 3 or maybe a poor 4 star. On arrival room was not ready (considering we arrived at 4.15pm), had to wait 1hr. Room door did not lock, safe was inoperable, sink did not drain, shower did not drain etc. Sharing room pool was full of black mould. Maintenance fixed issues, but this should be a 5 star experience...... Main pool, no chance of a sunbed after 7.30. Certain nationalities/families feel they have the right to put towles out and return at lunchtime/early afternoon to use. Hotel does nothing about this. You are made to feel ashamed to be English. Majority of the hotel is German, and the staff prioritise over any other nationality. Some staff also don't want to be here, quite rude tbh Food is very repetitive, but all well cooked. Show restaurants are also buffet, and only open certain nights, with a lot of the same food served in the main restaurant. Apart from that, hotel is well kept, room is tidy beach is nice. But no where near 5 star Disappointing

Never again cockroaches and ants in the bedroom bathroom and in the plunger pool. Some guests were having a row at 3am shouting screaming and throwing things. Staff at reception was so unhelpful when we had a problem they didn’t want to know or help us food was too salty and not much option. Black stains on my bed sheets even had the ants on the bed views were nice. Staff in restaurants were friendly and the drinks were the really cheap Coke or watered down. Wouldn’t come here again as this spoilt our time as I do like my clean rooms and these were bad I would say it’s more like a 3 star and the worst hotel iv stayed in go somewhere else

Stunning views, beautiful rooms . Well maintained pools . A very high standard of food and cleanliness. From the first step into the hotel early hours of the morning - I felt like a Princess, our bags carried to our room and friendly welcome with English speaking staff. The restaurant was open at 2am for us to have a light meal . We had the most beautiful room with a shared pool. Very clean rooms! A very high standard of food and cleanliness. 5* food options and a varied selection for everyone. We booked a romantic meal at the Beach Restaurant , the best Greek meze ever! I wish I could cook lamb like that. Good communication, letters to door to explain about changes to excursion start time . Lovely to have an evening entertainment too, live music aswell. I also enjoyed the Spa , such friendly staff an huge thank you so Terry , Georgia , Maria . I enjoyed the 5* massage and aloe Vera skin treatment , we can highly recommend Maria for a massage - a fantastic Honeymoon experience! A huge thank you to all the hard working staff . We needed a late check out and extended our all inclusive with no problem. We will be back !

Fantastic holiday! The hotel was closing for the end of season around us but we never felt rushed or unwelcome. Every member of staff except one in the main bar were attentive, friendly and never made us feel as others have mentioned, second class for being Engligh. The stand out staff were the lady on the pool bar on a night and the lady on the beach bar, both made good cocktails and were so lovely to talk to. For all inclusive buffet food they did an amazing job, always lots to eat, hot and well cooked. 10/10 for presentation too! The room had every we needed. The only downside was the TV turned on and popped up every time you opened the door which was annoying and sound proofing could have been better, as you could hear every suitcase being dragged at all hours and the cleaning trollys arriving in the morning. The room was spottlessly clean and well stocked. We had a shared pool and that was clean and checked daily by staff. The beach was clean and a nice place to relax. Even though it was October we went for a swim and the sea was lovley. In the evening if you didn't want to stay in the hotel you could walk to the village in 5 mins under an underpass to avoid the road. We tried several of the bars and enjoyed them all. During the day you can walk to Georgioupolis along the beach in around 30 mins. We used the local buses and visited Chania, Rethemon and Heraklion, all were really easy to get to but Chaina proved to be our favourite. We did use the spa which we found to be a good quality of massage at a reasonable price. This was my partners first trip to Greece and I feel that the Mythos gave a true taste of Greek hospiality. We are looking forward top returning.

Everything was very good, food and drinks, location, cleanness, the hotel complex in general Our expectations were exceeded.
