For our 7th trip to Ikos we opted to stay in Odisia, this was to co-incide with my 50th birthday and minus our three children on this holiday. On arrival at Corfu Airport, unfortunately the Ikos stand had no record of our booking despite me providing details on 1st May and sending an email to reconfirm the day before. Luckily staff rallied around and sorted a new transfer. On arrival at the hotel as you pull up to the gates, security check the names of the vehicle occupants. From staying at Aria most recently I know that we were greeted by staff members calling us by our names and welcoming us back as repeat guests to Ikos when you get out of the vehicle, which was obviously a quick call by security to relay the information which is a lovely professional touch. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and we were asked our names on pulling up outside. Fast forward one day to our lovely room 4114, the next morning around 7am my husband woke to knocking at our door, on jumping out of bed, he met a maintenance man letting himself into our room saying we had called him. My husband put him right that he must have the wrong room and we also had our do not disturb sign on the door. We didn't report this as we did not want the chap to get into trouble and understanding that people make mistakes. Unfortunately, realised that morning that our TV didn't work, we weren't too bothered and were not going to mention it but during the next night husband's bed collapsed, one of the legs came off by the headboard. Took that as a opportunity to mention both issues the next morning and concierge apologised and said they would repair both. That evening, we had a knock at the door. I opened it to a bottle of champagne and some macroons. We were delighted until we read the card attached. Even though it had our room number in the bottom corner it was a message addressed to another couple congratulating them on their wedding. We immediately text concierge, feeling deflated to say the least, asking them to collect as it clearly weren't for us! Concierge replied saying they would contact the relevant dept. A while later we got another message saying they were indeed for us but the cards had got mixed up, that someone would collect and swap over the cards. We were pleased but it had taken the shine off it. We were embarrassed and disappointed. My birthday came and went, not sure what I was expecting. Maria at the Sea Village pool brought me over a ice-cream with a candle in it when we mentioned it to her. So thoughtful and kind. That evening, we had an amazing meal in Olivia, our best meal in fact. Katerina is lovely manager, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. Constantinous, the resident sommieler, was absolutely lovely too. What a gentleman. We had previously met him on the day we arrived to do wine tasting with him and a group of others. We would highly recommend this activity. He is so knowledgeable and every wine he suggested paired amazingly well. As soon as he
