Ktima Bellou

This hotel is pretty damn close to perfection. Although perhaps a little hard to find, once you are there, you don’t really want to leave. Fairly newly built (but in traditional Macedonian style) this rural complex, composed of hotel, swimming pool, separate house accommodations and gardens, is beautifully landscaped onto a hillside location looking out onto the surrounding, forested mountains. It is an environmental haven with most of the produce raised or grown on site. The rooms are furnished in rustic style with small balconies. They also have fireplaces – ideal for winter escapes. The restaurant serves a la carte breakfasts and dinners. All the food is freshly prepared and the quality is excellent. Indeed, breakfast on the terrace in the morning sunshine with that wonderful view is a memory that will linger long in my mind. The icing on the cake though are the staff. The manager – her grandfather originally owned the land – and her small band of helpers could not be more kind or helpful – especially with advising on local attractions. Thoroughly recommended for a quiet rural escape.

We visited this farm stay on the recommendation of our niece a travel agent. We have travelled GREECE from NORTH TO SOUTH literally over 6 weeks. We have stayed at 5 star , apartments , seaside lodges the lot. . This place is outstanding . Detail to all things is amazing. From food to decor and service. A family run farm stay , who are so accomodating and friendly it’s so refreshing to see such warmth and curtesy . There is no hotel frenzy , it’s calm and relaxed. Wine list is amazing , food is organic mostly. And from their garden. They grow their own stuff mostly. The cooking classes were amazing , photos attached. I highly recommend it .

Absolutely amazing stay! I have never been to a place where people are so polite, food so tasty, views so picturesque, and the accomodation so elegant. Only poets or novelist can really describe what is going on at Ktima Bellou. Greek authentic hospitality at its best. Great food, excellent landscape and amazing facilities. Nevertheless, the thing that you will never forget is the out of this world kindness and service of its staff.

Only visited the restaurant but it was first class. We came on a cloudy day and was just what we needed with a roaring fire, fantastic food and fantastic service. Certainly suitable for a romantic meal with linen tablecloths and flowers.

Ktima Bellou is an wonderful country lodge to stay near and excellent views of Mt. Olympus! This is truly a eco-friendly place to stay where they locally source or grow almost all the amazingly home cooked meals. The cool hills are a wonderful summer retreat from the heat in Greece, but also in the autumn with the spectacular colours, and definitely a place to visit all year around. Afroditi and her family run an excellent service that would highly recommend to everyone, but not too much as don’t want this secret to become too popular!
