雖然言語不通，偶爾停個電馬上又恢復，飲食也是變花樣豐富大家，還有晚上不同的節目。用心服務的態度能感受到。唯一不足酒店的用車太舊了，空調不製冷。

很好的酒店，除了車開進去路有點不好以外其他都很棒，知道我們生日還準備了蛋糕，晚餐唱歌時還唱了生日歌，早餐晚餐都不錯，第三天早上離開時車子電瓶沒電了，酒店還幫忙接了電，非常感謝！

獨立於郊區之外 還是比較舒服的 走路去熱鬧的沙灘也很近

5 étoiles pour l’emplacement, tout juste 4 pour le reste. Hôtel d’apparence magnifique, bien situé, magnifique piscine, belle jetée et les petits îlots pour les chambres sont assez sympa. Pour les chambres c’est une autre histoire, c’était peut être un 5 étoiles il y’a 10 ans mais plus aujourd’hui. Mobilier tachée et usager, idem pour la literie, propreté moyenne. Globalement ça mériterait une grosse rénovation pour retrouver 5 étoiles. Nous avons dû demander à changer de chambre… Nourriture moyenne mais correcte, un gros plus pour le restaurant the Jetty dont les plats sont simplement excellents. Bref, en résumé le rapport qualité prix est très moyen, si vous avez ce genre de budget, prenez un autre 5*, sinon payez moins cher et prenez un beau 4* à moitié prix.

The place is serene, the rooms are very cozy and comfortable, the staff are friendly and their variety of meals and dinner setups make your stay royal. The facility has a variety of room options from ocean view, garden view, suites, villas. Every person is well taken care of. Oh and the Kids club is an amazing place to engage the kids productively while having fun as you get your time off with your spouse. It was great noting that they have a medical doctor as part of the team.

The hotel was so beautiful, staff amazing and so helpful and really good vibes. The rooms were clean, location was also quite central to all the other places we wanted to go to in nungwi. Would definitely stay here again in the future! For a longer time as well

We had a wonderful experience. Our wedding was a spectacular event at this facility. Everything was well co ordinated, the seaview Villa was breathtaking. If we had e second chance we would still choose Essque Zalu as our wedding venue. Mr Aditya, Miss Lindy and and the team are the dreamteam.

Amazing hotel! staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you! Absoloutley loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone. Hotel was very quiet and chilled and food was amazing. Turtle sanctuary 2 minute walk away and views are stunning. favourite place we have been!

We were staying here for our first 5 nights in Zanzibar during our 12-night holiday which was not following a safari, we were exploring the island, staying in different hotels. For anyone reading this review I feel it is as important to provide some trip advice which I have learnt from our trip; the reason being the island of Zanzibar is best described as RAW tourism and there are points that you will need to know before travel and selecting your hotel base. The visa process cannot be processed using the official Tanzanian tourism site and the e mail address is not monitored so at this time do not waste your time on the official site. We selected an established visa online service provider who we found to be excellent, providing the visas within 6 days. A word of caution there is some confusion regarding the ability to obtain your visa on arrival at the airport for $50, on check in with Fly Dubai they requested our visas and confirmed that it was mandatory to have a copy prior to boarding. During the flight visa application forms were distributed but only to selected passengers who were not referrals, my strong advice is to have it before you go. So, Raw tourism, well the island economy is 90% dependent on tourism and the authorities are in my personal view making some very poor decisions which will impact on tourism. As of the 1st of October 2024, you will now be required to purchase mandatory travel health insurance from a single source in Tanzania regardless of whether you have cover or your status at a cost of $44 for each person. Your stay will be taxed each day at $5 each day for each person, so for a 12 night stay you can add on $120 dollars. This meant our stay cost us $246 for visas, $120 tourist tax and you can now add on $88 for travel insurance making an extra charge of $454. We took low denomination US dollars and sufficient to pay expected charges and tips, if you decide to pay by credit card be prepared for 3 – 5% charges applied to every transaction and make sure you check, as on several occasions we were present when clients were hit with a 10% charge, which when challenged was reduced to 5%. When paying with US dollars ensure you request that prior to paying the change is provided in the same currency and not the local currency shillings; The difference is significant in value. The island may well establish itself as a tourist destination of choice for Honeymooners and post safari relaxation, with its current stance it will struggle to attract return visitors. My apologies for my opening which has nothing to do with the hotel, but these are things which travelling from the UK I wish I had known before I travelled. I would add that our stay in Stonetown and the south threw up some other unexpected examples of Raw tourism not experienced in the north. We selected the Essque Zalu as our base in the north as felt that the beaches were better in the area and this proved to be the case. The hotel is due to close in February 2025 for

Overall beautiful space, top notch service and well rounded stay. From ambience to food and amenities, we were well taken care of! From the front desk to management, really appreciate your attention, care and hospitality. Location is also perfect given that you can walk around the area (within walking distance to Baraka Aquarium) and being able to access beach via hotel shuttle means you get everything in one location. would definitely come back, again and again. Thank you!

Beautiful Hotel. Very Unfortunate that the beach is no option for swimming but the pool is just as good. No matter if Carpenter, Gardener, Cleaner, Chef, Waiter or receptionist everyone was nice at all times! Special thanks to Said Mbwana!

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by a member of staff who immediately briefed us on all the items available in the hotel that were NOT part of our package. We weren’t told about any facilities other than the two restaurants and the spa. Kids club, gym wasn’t mentioned. Staff were disinterested and constantly chatting amongst themselves. Overall the property is run-down and needs considerable investment and a revamp to get back to a 5 star standard which I’m sure it once was. During our stay, the staircase from the cliff top to the beach was washed away during high tide. Not surprising as it was completely dilapidated and dangerous to use before the incident. Pros: - lovely large pool - lovely staff at Jetty restaurant: Melina and Steven as well as chef were a stand-out - beautiful view from the pool area - Baobab trees around the property and the vegetation in general is lush and lovely - dinner options were good with a live grill station every night and a la carte available at the jetty - Management are trying their best to make improvements on the spot which we much appreciated Cons: - breakfast was very sub-standard. Very limited bread selection, no cold cuts, no pork at all, no table service of any kind (not even coffee). Only filtered coffee available. - rooms are spacious but quite tired. Tony flat screen TV. Ours had 7 channels but only 1 of them worked - WiFi extremely poor throughout the premises - pool furniture very aged, including the towels which were either stained or contained holes - walkway to the Jetty restaurant seems on the unstable side - hopefully it’ll get refurbished soon before an accident happens - overall the worst value for money we ever experienced at a 5 star hotel - nightly charges are simply not justifiable in the current state of the property. Recommendations for improvement: - Open the jetty restaurant only a few times a week to increase number of visitors and plan better for diners - Offer some weekly activities such as dart tournaments or some sports options for guests - Have special spa offers a few times a week so guests frequent the spa more often - Have the kids club staff visit the kids around the pool or during breakfast time in the restaurant and offer them some activities like Henna, crab hunt, ping pong, pool games, bracelet making, palm leaf weaving - offer a la Carte items during breakfast. Understandably due to Zalu being a boutique hotel it cannot offer as many choices as a larger hotel however a la carte options served at the table can make up for much of the reduced offering (please consider also pork bacon/ham/salami as in TUI Blue)
