Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa

Stayed here for 10 days after a week long safari adventure in Tanzania. This was the perfect place to recover, rewind and recharge. My cottage in the lush gardens was clean and comfortable and ideally located for beach, pool and restaurants but it was the outstanding service and food which exceeded all expectations. Smiles and hellos from all staff from gardeners, security, to reception, bar and restaurant staff all seemed genuine. They remembered my name and room number within 2 days and couldn't do more to help. A special mention goes to my fellow Scot, Scott. His enthusiasm, energy and all round good nature and friendliness with his staff and guests could not be ignored. I also recommend at least one massage in the spa. The African massage was very good.

We spent 7 nights at Ocean Paradise. The resort is so well maintained, the grounds and gardens are lovely. It was also encouraging to see the GM frequently out and about, checking in with guests and staff. Our accommodation was positioned, 2nd row from the beach front. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The position was really convenient for the pool bar and restaurants. The mini bar was stocked with beer and soft drinks. We were All Inclusive which I thought was excellent value. The selection of food at both lunch and dinner (and the quality ) was really good. In the evening, each night was themed, for example Indian, Italian, Mediterranean etc but there really is something for everyone (in my view), with live cooking stations also. The choice of drinks, cocktails, wine etc - fab. All the staff were so friendly, took time to chat, and showed a genuine interest. The animation team - thanks for helping me out with my palm weaving Varisto on the beach - so hard working and always checking if we needed anything. Omar Junior, Priscilla and happy Irene “Cashier” - enjoyed our blethers (….ask Scott to translate). Scott (FB Manager) from Scotland , thanks for looking after us - you’re doing a great job. Top drawer! Hope we’ll get an opportunity to visit again.

This could be a phenomenon resort were it not for the front desk team, and when you look you see the problem is caused by their manager Mr Ajit. He never takes responsibility yet alone accountability, he blames processes rather than fixing them and doesn’t have a customer service bone in his body. The leadership would do well to either retrain the man or get rid of him. By contrast the F&B team are super amazing, led by Scot his team do him a great credit, they are constantly smiling, engaging and deliver an amazing customer experience all day every day. They totally made our holiday a brilliant experience … well done you guys.
