Sofia Sea View

We booked in for half board & were not disappointed as Azziza & Rashid, the chefs are excellent at their craft. As Sofia only has 3 rooms, the chefs were able to pretty much cook anything we requested within reason. Breakfasts were good and varied & supper was our own choice during our 7 night stay. We sampled everything from a seafood platter to local curries & all were excellent. Our room was spacious & well furnished & the aircon. worked very well. The pool was great for cooling off as the beach was not as clean as we would have liked. The seaweed harvesting was interesteng to watch & also the "planting' of a new harvest during our stay. All The staff were very friendly & keen to make our stay as good as possible. Thanks to Natty, Lily, Davide, Zuhura, Thelma & the gardener (sorry forgot his name) Apologies for any names misspelt!! We definitely recommend Sofia Sea View for those travelers who are looking for a quiet break with great food etc. & whilst it would be good to be close to the local village in normal circumstances, we found that due to the Covid situation we were reluctant to interact. (our choice)!Sofia is situated in a local fishing village with little else close by. Just the odd other resort, so a little quiet for us. We found the beach quite scruffy which was disappointing as there is a nursery school on the one side of Sofia & an informal creche on the other & they did not clear their part of the beach, but left lots of washed up rubbish above the high tide line. It's a shame they don't teach the children about the environment & have a clean up organised involving the village. We would have gladly joined in to help.

We visited Nov 2017 but have only been able to think about whether we post a review or not. Sadly, most of the other reviews on all social media have been posted by family/friends of the owners. We booked 4 night's for a short honeymoon, and we arrived very tired, and very late at night in the darkness. After waiting for over 30mins, we were advised that the private pool room was now not available, and they took us to another room.and offered a bottle of champagne and some food as compensation. The bed was rock hard, my husband cut his foot on the decking outside, and we had the worst sleep. We found out quickly that the reason we could not have that room was because the owners family wanted to extend their stay by an extra night, and they were loudly chatting on their phones and watched our every move, which was intimidating. The next day at 11am we were told we could move next door into the private pool area, only to be advised that the pool isn't private to us (as was advertised and advised to us when we booked), and that it was shared with the 2 other rooms. The whole resort was badly and falsely advertised. When we went to bed that night, we realised that the bedroom patio sliding door was broken and would not lock. As a result, we slept in the day bed in the lounge and after closing/locking doors and windows which had been unlocked/opened by the resort staff during the day, and with the light on, as by this time I did not feel safe. And this was the 3nd night we barely got any sleep, after an already exhausting wedding in the UK,and back to Dubai for a quick repack before heading on honeymoon. We just needed sleep! When we raised this the next day with the team, we were told this would be sorted. When we checked and checked again, the door was never fixed and instead they brought in an extra security man. Additionally the resort staff had unlocked and reopened all the doors and windows again, and now I believed this was on purpose . We told them this was not acceptable, and again we were forced to try to sleep in the lounge. After dinner, without us requesting, the resort and/or security brought the village to the property and the whole.village appeared on the beach, with so many people just looking at us and watching us. We had no cash on us as we had booked the hole short trip as all inclusive for everything so that we didn't have to worry about anything. But the village were performing and hoping for a tip, which sadly we were unable to provide. We again felt quite intimidated as the security men were from the village and we're part of the music/dancing. Usually we would love such an event but by now, I was completely on edge. That night, my husband stayed awake to let me sleep a few hours but at 5am we decided to pack up and checkout when the team arrived in the morning. As we explained to the guy on duty, he brought us blue coloured alcoholic drinks as compensation and tried to get us to stay. Serving alcohol at 7am was not acceptab

Presso questa struttura abbiamo realizzato il nostro sogno! Sposarci al tramonto in spiaggia sull'Oceano Indiano è stata un'emozione unica. Un grazie di cuore ad Antonio che ha reso possibile tutto questo curando l'organizzazione e al super Daniele che ci ha seguiti e assistiti in ogni passo. Nel luogo del matrimonio davanti alla struttura è stato creato un gazebo con particolari bianchi e molti fiori, la sabbia era scavata a formare un cuore ed è stato sistemato un tavolo con due sedie. Dopo il momento per noi due con scambio di promesse e di fedi è partito il rito masai a rendere più unica ed indimenticabile la situazione. Bottiglia di vino per il brindisi e poi un'ottima cena di pesce fornita dalla struttura. Abbiamo mangiato davvero divinamente! E' stato meraviglioso anche esser stati contornati dai bambini del villaggio che non hanno voluto mancare alla festa cantando e ballando Grazie davvero per aver realizzato il nostro sogno del matrimonio, resterete tutti nei nostri cuori. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di soggiornare in questo incantevole albergo con camere direttamente sulla spiaggia e non potremmo essere più soddisfatti dell'esperienza. La posizione è semplicemente incredibile: svegliarsi ogni mattina con il suono delle onde e una vista mozzafiato sull'oceano è stata un esperienza unica. La colazione servita ogni mattina era deliziosa, con una varietà di opzioni tra cui scegliere. Le camere sono pulite e ben arredate. La gentilezza e l'ospitalità del personale hanno reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più piacevole. Si sono presi cura di ogni nostra esigenza e ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. Un ringraziamento speciale va a Remo che ha reso il nostro soggiorno speciale ed è diventato un amico che ricorderemo per sempre…. Ma anche alla gentilezza di Anastasia e Rei e Daniele grazie di cuore . In sintesi, se state cercando un rifugio tranquillo sulla spiaggia con un servizio eccezionale, questo piccolo albergo è la scelta perfetta. Non vedo l'ora di tornarci e vivere nuovamente questa esperienza indimenticabile.

Boutique hotel sul mare, solo 3 ville di diverso tipo. tutto fantastico e ristorante ottimo con piatti di pesce e internazionali ben cucinati. Bravo il personale che ti fa sentire a tuo agio e camere ben tenute in stile africano. Consigliato

Séjour exceptionnel, hôtel exceptionnel avec emplacement fabuleux.... je ne voulais pas rentrer !!. Nous avons passé 2 semaines inoubliables entre le Tropical Sunset Hotel (tout aussi fabuleux) et le Sofia Sew View Hotel. Le gérant, le personnel sont d'une gentillesse incroyable et répondent à nos moindres demandes. Merci infiniement à Antonio, Lili, Happy, Remo, Raimi, Betcham, Ibrahim, Ali, Ebony.... et tous ceux présents que je n'ai pas cité . Nous recommandons ces deux établissements sans hésiter. C'est le plus beau de tous les voyages que j'ai fait, et pourtant j'ai voyagé.... Allez-y, foncez !
